  1. I just looked at my 82 for you. My kill switch goes from the handlebars to the wiring box behind the front light. Remove the white headlight housing and you should find all the connections there. Black/White goes to Black/White and Black/Yellow goes to Black/Yellow. Pretty straight forward. If it doesn't start when you put it back together then the switch is bad and is probably why it was disconnected. If you need to know were it goes from the headlight housing let me know and I'll look for you. Hope this helps.
  2. 82 was the first year of the DR250. In 81 you would have a DS250. If it was built in 81 and is a DR250 then you have an 82 model - www.midwestactioncycle.com would have what you are looking for. Hope this helps.
  3. I need a new muffler for a 1982 DR250 4-stroke I'm rebuilding. The original muffler is rusted out and needs to be replaced. Should I buy a OEM muffler $166 or buy a Universal Muffler like the tunable FMF Universal Megamax $144. My main concern is that it is quiet, serviceable, and cheap. I don't know if the OEM or Megamax includes a silencer. The OEM is a closed system but the Megamax appears to be serviceable. I'm also open to any other suggestions for a muffler under $200. Also, noticed a White Brother E-Series Universal silencer $150. Any Experience with these mufflers would be appreciated.
