  1. is it alright to put oem valve springs on after market valves or am i asking for problems? im being told by the mechanic that its ok. ive always thought oem on oem and but does it really matter? new top end on a xr250r 2000.
  2. If Your Sure The Kill Switch Is Ok Then Go To The Harness /then Go To The Coil /then Rev Box /then Pulse Generator /then Plug /replace Resistor With Solid Copper #6 Wire Same Length/ Good Luck
  3. i will be racing and feel good about my xr in the single track course. but the race is a dead start. any e start has a advantage. any one have any tips to get out to a good start. i feel like i can compete with most riders on the trails. the race is usually won at the start . i expect ill be surprizing some people . ill just have to wear them down and capitalize when it counts.
  4. will octain boost help the performance of my stock 2000 xr250 or should i just not deal with it. if the differance is noticeable ill run it. would it damage the motor if i run it all the time? your comments and experence are appreiciated
  5. get the 250 make it a 280 and you will be competitive in any race. the 400 is good but not as nimble it tight technical terrain. the 280 will shine in any condition. the 250 has a ton of aftermarket options.
  6. al bakers xrs only
  7. reclean everything....... let it soak
  8. thanks i feel better now
  9. i had the header off my xr250 and sitting on the bench . i left to the store when my brother comes over and starts it with no stinkin pipe on. how stupid do you get. he said he started it then shut it down right away.could this have done any damage? i could have choked him. i hope everything is alright.
  10. WHAT ARE THE BENIFITS TO HAVING A O-RING CHAIN VS. A REGULAR CHAIN? DOES A O- RING CHAIN LAST THAT MUCH LONGER??? HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR CHAIN IS WORNOUT. SHOULD YOU WARM UP THE CHAIN BEFORE AJUSTING THE TENSION IE. RIDE IT????? CHAINS ARE TO EXPENSIVE!!!!
  11. i got a hot shot cdi rev box through denniskirk.com for about 50.00 if i remember right. ive done the plug mod, w/ no problems. plug mod #6 solid copper wire cut and shaped to stock resistor specs. with spring. i would check for continuity and short to ground with a simpson ohms meter. i would ask a electrician buddy to borrow his meter . the simpson is way more sensitive than most of the digital meters out their. the greater the ohm value the lesser the short . the lesser the ohm value the greater the short. u might look at xrs only for your year in aftermarket cdi boxes. i wish i new more. good luck
  12. Well I went and bought the 12 tooth sprocket up front. Ill get it installed and ride it. Ill let you know how it turns out. I expect it to have lots of grunt for the moutain trails around here.
  13. I Have Xr 250 2000 With Stock Gearing 13/48. I Ride Mostly High Mountain Trails And Was Wondering If Going To A 14 Tooth Up Front Would Help Me Get That Front Tire Up When I Needed It To. Or Should I Go 52 On The Rear Sprocket. Your Input Is Greatly Appreiciated. What Would My Top Speed Be Reduced To Approx.?
  14. the spark plug mod seemed to put some snap in my throttle . #6 solid copper was a perfect match in diameter.
  15. I Want To Get Rid Of The Acordiun Fork Covers And Go With Somthing Different. Any Sugestions? 2000 Xr 250
