  1. Here is the deal. I bought a new 06 cr 125 that has 16 hrs on it and it has never ran right. I have jetted the bike to pro curcuit specs and the plug is a perfect golden brown when i check it after riding. My problem is; after i take a break from riding and go to start it the plug will foul. Then the plug is covered with gas. I have tried everything from reving the bike up on stut down. Not reving. turning the petcock off. Its like there is fuel pouring into the cyclinder when the bike sits from anywhere from 5mins to 20mins. I called my local shop and they said to check the floats in the carb. I really don't think its a jetting issue. The bike runs great and has never fouled a plug while riding, just on start up. Has anyone ever had this problem before? Any ideas. Thanks for your time.....
  2. I called my local dealership and told them what was going on, and they said "dirtbikes don't come with a warranty". So now im stuck with a $4000 bike that runs when it wants to. If anyone knows where i should start troubleshooting please let me know. Fyi. I did drain my trans oil and it didn't use any oil in 4hrs ride time. If it was the crank seal shouldn't the oil level be lower?

    06 cr 125 PLEASE HELP...

Could the trans seal be my issue? Here is the deal. I bought a new 06 cr 125 that has 16 hrs on it and it has never ran right. 4. FYI Could this be my problem? I found this infromation on another post. Im going to call my local dealer Tuesday. UPDATE!! I just got off the phone with a honda customer service rep and after getting involved with a district manager the problem is linked to a faulty seal that is leaking oil from the transmission. The district manager admitted that this was a problem from the factory on the 06 cr 125's. And I'm happy to announce that all costs for repair with be made BY HONDA. As I said before and I honestly believe, when you buy a brand new bike it SHOULD RUN. BOTTOM LINE!!! I can understand if I have to make minor adjustments. But, I should not have to rip apart carbs and motors just to get a brand new bike to run. I dont care if the bike comes with a warranty or not. And the big brass at honda agree with me. Now I just have to wait for the mechanics to fix the bike and I'll be out bustin berm's.
  5. After the bike sits for 5 -20 mins, it will always start. It's after i ride 100ft or so it will foul. To me it seems like extra fuel is getting in the cylinder when it sits and then it fouls trying to burn off the extra fuel. I can tell when its fouling and i can hold it wide open or not, and the bike will still foul. After researching Could this have anything to so with it? UPDATE!! cr 250 trans oil question

I have a question; I bought a used 04 cr250 (love it) and i have been changing the trans oil after every ride. The reason being the oil is super dark after i ride the bike for a couple hours. My question is, does the oil brake down or is it just flushing the trans/clutch? How important is changing dirty oil, have no problem changing the oil after 5 hrs or so but every ride is a little much. I'm using belray 80w, does anyone else have this same (maybe) issue? if its just flushing the engine is there any other cheaper oil i can use? So, its not costing me 8 dollars a shot??
  7. I have heard great things about this oil. I have a 06 cr125 and a 04 cr250, and i'm wanting to try some cheaper but good trans oil. $8 for belray is too much. I change my oil every 5 hrs or less (hr meter). Strictly mx here. Here is the question; which type Rotella-T synthetic 5-40 or non synthetic 15-40 would be better for me? 5w weight seems very thin???????

I have some extra pennsoil 10-30 left over. This is the energy conserving type. Should i put this in, start the bike for a minute or so just to flush it out? Good idea bad idea, i will not be riding with this oil in.......

    04 cr 250 loosing oil?

I have a 2004 cr 250 that seems to be using trans oil. I noticed it before I went riding, as I always check all fluids. I topped of the trans and went riding. When I got home I checked the oil level and sure enough it was low. I have also noticed in the past, that when I have changed the oil and have let the bike sit for a period of time the oil level also gets goes lower. However, the bike does not smoke abnormally. So I have some questions. It’s got to be the crank seal right? Is it weird the bike leaks when it’s just sitting? If it’s the crank seal, shouldn't the bike smoke while it’s running? Will the oil leaking into the engine cause any damage? Is this a common problem? Has anyone else had this problem on a 04?

    04 cr 250 loosing oil?

Thanks for the reply, and you make a good point about the air bubbles. I do check the level using the bolt. It just seems to be using more oil than that (air bubbles). I just bought the bike a two weeks ago. I guess i will just ride it and keep a close eye on it. Anymore suggestion, anyone?

  17. Ok here is the deal, I have an stock 06 125, and i'm thinking about buying a 03 cr250. My question is; are the plastics the same (rear fender, side number plates, shrouds) on an 03 cr250 vs an 06 cr250? I'm interested in trying to match the bikes, making the 03 cr250 look like an 06 cr250 (should i buy the 03). I know that the front fender and front number plate is different from 03 to 06 on cr250's anything else? Plastics only.....
