    1999 wr400 wont idle

it's been sitting for about 8 months, a trace of gas in the carb, like maybe a teaspoon when I took the bolt off of the bottom to check before starting. Put fresh gas in it and it fired after a couple kicks then died. A couple more attempts and it kept idling. After a minute or so I tried cracking the throttle with the choke still on and it was very reluctant to bring the rpms up. Finally after turning the throttle quite a ways it responded but was very ratty sounding. If I turn the choke off it won't idle at all. Rode around the block and it ran ok at high r's but would not idle at all.. Any ideas like accelerator pump or other rubber in the carb being cracked. Thanks, Greg
