  1. A 2003 CRF 450 was stolen this morning at Durango Hills Golf Course at Cheyenne and Durango. Please keep an eye out for this bike. It could be yours next time. Lets stop these Scum Bags before they can do this again. See the picture below. The bike has Alpine Star Graphics and black front fender. It had a desert tank and sand paddle on when stolen. Any info Please contact either number. 702-561-6996, 702-596-5184 Thanks http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/af185/coopbronco/DSC00746.jpg
  2. I was looking for a fan to put on a WR Supermoto project and found this info on another website. Maybee it will help, "i used a spal usa fan. heres the one.http://www.spalusa.com/. I used the 4in fan part number 30103009. I just went to vip and got a 2 pole switch. I ran a wire from the postive side to my bars. Hooked up one side of the switch. Than i ran another wire from the switch to the fan. Than you run a wire from the fan to the negative side. I made bracket for the fan using a sheet of copper. only thing i had. i used the tank shroud the bottom bolt on the side of the raditor to attach the plate. The other i mounted to what holds the rad, to the frame. just made simple triangle brackets to hold the fan. You have to mount the fan on your right side. i had do the stator mod for the light kit. you can find the stator mod on baja design web site. i think i covered it mostly"
  3. Im running the ODI grips/trottle tube. I love them, no performance advantage over stock but i like that both sides clamp onto the bars, no need for glue or saftey wire. Also like the removable bar end caps to run with or without barkbusters.
  4. Thanks Ill replace the impeller and go from there.
  5. I thought id'e add i have had this bike for over three years, bought it slightly used from the first owner. I have ridden this bike on three trips to baja 700-800 miles per trip, and 10-15 dune trips per year, lots of desert riding, and Ive never had cooling problems. The most recent work i listed before : top end rebuild last jan, waterpump seals in march with probably 5 rides since then before it started giving me problems. It leaked minimally 3 weeks ago at the dunes, a little more the next weekend, new radiator cap before this last weekend ride, and i rode for 10 min and parked it because it was a constant leak, pulled it apart and found the cracked impelor. I also traded rad caps with my brother just to make sure the new cap wasn't bad.
  6. Thanks Grayracer. I put new waterpump seals in the bike last spring and have riden quite a bit since. I guess its possible i cracked it while reinstalling the impelor and it has taken this long to start spinning free on the shaft. It was cracked at the base of the nut but was still in place and didnt look like the impelor had been spinning free. I also rebuilt the top end last spring and have ridden many hours since this with no coolant problems, the head gasket leaking pressure is a posibility i hadn't considered. Is there a way to test this? Riding Conditions: It will not leak at idle, riding at the dunes with a paddle, it will start to leak as soon as i get moving. Even when the bike is fairly cool and running on the flats, so not under any heavy load which would cause excesive heat. I moved the overflow hose so i could watch it while riding and after leaving the truck with a cold bike i was getting a constant stream. stop and idle and the leak slows/stops. I let it leak past the point where the coolant was below the fins just to make sure it wasnt simply overfilled and that wasnt the case. Thanks for the input.
  7. My '03 YZ450 was losing alot of fluid out of the overflow. I replaced the cap with a cv4 30lb cap thinking this was the problem. It was still losing a lot of fluid so i pulled the waterpump cover and found the impelor cracked where the "nut" attaches to the impelor. My question is would the cracked impelor cause enough overheating to dump a constant stream of coolant from the overflow while riding, or could i have another problem which is causing enough presure to leak out of the new radiator cap that also caused the impelor to crack? I will obviously be replacing the impelor but regardless of the crack, it was still threaded on the shaft tight so i asume it was still spinning/pumping, so why the overflow problem? Any ideas? Thanks
  8. I got a plate yesterday! I went to henderson DMV and walked right through. I got an attendant that did not have an attitude, and it wasnt a problem. For cars, the certificate of origin is non transferable, it was just a matter of realizing that for an off-road moto this is the only thing to show ownership. I dont know what i could do different if i title another bike, it's just a matter of getting lucky enough to get the right attendent at the DMV. Thanks for the input, hopefully this will help someone avoid 4 trips to the DMV. I would have made twice that many cause the weathers nice and nothing beats riding my 450 around town!!!
  9. I see a lot of people have used an airbox cut out like this. Is it custom made or where can i get one? Your bike turned out clean.
  10. So i had the inspection done by a liscened shop (Ridenow on Rancho). They were very helpfull and did the inspection for free. DMV also signed the inspection sheet. So the street legal part is done. Inside DMV they still have a hang up with the Cert. of Origin not being in my name. I am told i need to have the original owner title it and transfer the title to me. Im going to try another DMV first and if that doesnt work Ill go the route MXTyree suggested through Yamaha. Ill keep this updated. Thanks for the help.
  11. I was told that the certificate of origin i got from the previous owner is non-transferable. That i would need the original owner to title the bike and then transfer the title. At the inspection station they said the bike was mising the federal label stating it is legal for the street, which I explained was the reason for my trip to the DMV, for them to inspect the bike. They gave me a form to have filled out by a liscened shop stating that the bike has the proper equip. So this will be my next step is to have the form signed by a liscenced shop. But the title issue has me worried. It was signed over to me and i have a bill of sale. Maybee a different person at the counter will have a different aproach.
  12. Ive seen this topic covered for many states and i thought it was an easy process in Nevada but nothing is easy with DMV. Has anyone plated a WR in Las Vegas? Ive got all the required equip, baja desings kit + mirrors + vapor. Ive gotten no where with DMV, any help or leads are appreciated. 2003 WR 450 Thanks, Cooper
