  1. Haha I just got back from the post office and read this...Sorry guys I didn't get pics. Im just keen to get it back and get the athena as soon as possible. Cheers, John
  2. After sending a very angry reply to their email, I got a much better response. Polite and friendly. Basically appologising saying he didnt mean to offend me. He said I could either run the cylinder and if anything goes wrong in the first 40hrs, vertex would foot any repair bill. or Send everything back directly to him and he would refund the full ammount including any shipping costs. Im prob being abit picking but paying nearly $900 Australian dollars for something with 100's of pin holes inside the bore just doesnt seem fair to me. Prob going to send it back and go athena. Thanks redr1boy! Anyone else can confirm the athena quality? Cheers, John
  3. I emailed them and this is the response I got: Basically I think the guy was telling me I don't know what im talking about and they are made for "top races"...ie use them once and chuck them away! Im thinking of sending it back to get an athena 290 kit.....can anybody report on the quality of the athena cylinders, ie pitting in the bore??
  4. Hi, I just brought the vertex 300 kit for my yz250f. I am very unhappy with the quality of the cylinder. There is pitting all through the casting, even inside the bore!!!! Is this a common thing with aftermarket big bore kits or did I just get a lemon?? What should I do as I have opened everything and only seen the pitting through out the cylinder when I went to install. There was also one piston clip missing in the packet. I live in Australia and brought it from the states, so I can see this being a big f**k around. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, John
