  1. Another vote for Cal City. Took my wife, who hasn't ridden in 20 years, and my young kids who just got bikes, and we had a great time. It's their favorite place, they liked it much better than Dove Springs. Plenty of easy trails, and they loved the ride to Randsburg for burgers. Definitely Cal City for beginners.
  2. Yeah, we all ride. I haven't taken them to Rowher yet, it's been years since I was there myself. I remember some more difficult riding there, wasn't sure how it would work out with the family. What do you think? Let me know when your group is heading to Cal City, sounds like fun.
  3. Sorry, missed a couple of reponses. Thanks for the connection from the old thread, printing it now. And I appreciate the tips on crash sites Kevin, but why won't you say where, tough riding or gruesome site?
  4. Thanks for the welcome Old-Man, we live in Agua Dulce. We ride from our house a bit and go to Cal City when we get the chance. I appreciate the tips. And I agree 628, it is a lot like a scaventer hunt, I can't wait to give it a try. I opened my Garmin today, but the girls were more into their new horse than biking, so I'll wait till we get to Cal City to start the geocaching. Still hoping to find that plane crash though.
  5. Maybe it was an X-15, I have no idea. That would be great if you found that thread. I was trying to find an existing thread that would have helped me but I've just really started using this TT forum, I'm still getting the hang of it. It took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to make my first post, DUH. But I'm glad I asked because now I know to look into the geocaching. Thanks for the help.
  6. Thanks Old-Man. I was checking out the website, seems like something even I can figure out (with the help of the kids). Have you ever heard of a plane crash site out there?
  7. I've never heard of this but it sounds like a lot of fun. The kid's will love it. Thanks for the tip.
  8. I'm taking the family to California City for a few days. We're fairly new to the sport but having a great time. We've been to Ransberg before, but I would like to find new places to take them. My wife and my two girls have only been riding a year, the youngest is still on her 70, so I need to stick to the easy trails. Tomorrow I'm opening my new Garmin Etrex to make sure we don't get lost, but I would sure appreciate some ideas on where to go.
