    2002 rm 85 help!

    o.k, so my friend and i just rebuilt the top end on this bike. Everything was gooing great, good compression and bike was running well. it smoked a bit for the first hour or so it was running at the local track and park, i think i was running it too rich, but wanted to be safe with breaking in the top end. Well after an hour is just stalled out and would not restart at all by kicking, and could barely run when being towed. It seems as soon as it gets running an accelerqation bogs it down and floods it out. the plug is new, but when kicking it fuel would pour out bottom of carb. So i cleaned the carb and put air idle screw out 2 turns, checked the needle, it on 2 notch from bottom as its always been. I cant get this bike to run. What should I do, whgat could be wrong with my carb, it getting fuel, maybe way to much? its also getting spark.. Please any help or advice would be great. Thanks, oh and this bike has always ran great and even did for about an hour and a half today on the new topn end, then nothing!!!!

    thumb injury

    about 1 month and a half ago i went down on my bike and thought i jamed my right thumb. it hurt bad and was swollen, i never went to the doctor. it still hurts bad to this day, not swollen anymore, but the lower joint hurts bad everytime i bend it. has anyone delt with this, could it be broken? is there any other damage that could have been done in there? thanks for any help.

    thank you all for your help and advice, sounds like it is the bearings, i have ordered the parts already now.. thanks again oh. p.s- what is the allen head bolt for then if the drain is on the bottom. i thought you fill the trans fluid until it dribbles out of the side bolt under the water pump, is that wrong. beacause i do not have a measure cup for ml. thanks
  5. i just got an 02 rm 85 for my girlfriend and i would like to get it all ready to go riding tomorrow. i have a few questions i was hoping you could help me with. 1. what type of trans oil, and how do i know if its full?? 2. the rear wheel has excessive play side to side, like its real loose, but its tight. do i need to replace the bearings and spacers? if so is it hard? how do i do it? thanks for any help or advice you can give me. happy riding and holiday to you all.
  6. i was just replacing my clutch springs, and instaling the bolts back, as specified in the manual to 87lb torqe setting, well I had it set at 80lb on a brand new out of box torqe wrench, and it snaped one head off of the bolt. the problem is I have a riding trip planed for tomorrow, and all the kawi dealers are closed, so I purchased a matching bolt and washer, but its not a grade 7 like the factory, its a cheap steel bolt and washer, will that be o.k, or will I damage something in a days ride. is there realy that much pressure on the washer and bolt holding the spring? anyone have any advice or ideas, or anyone know if there is the same size and stength bolt somewhere else on the bike I can use? thanks for any help..

    leo vince or pro circuit???

    rocket full system. dyno test ( dirt rider mag) 2.1hp and 1.25 lbs of tourqe, can beet it, and thats with the spark arrestor in it. sounds bad ass too. get it and don't look back, it ouperforms pro circut in all test.

    red hot exhaust

    they come very lean from the factory. i live just 300ft above sea level, and mine did the same. i adjusted the idle/air screw out a 1/4 turn to make it run better for the break in and cooler too. once its broken in and you open it up with an exhaust and jet it correctly it will no longer be an issue. best of luck

    boysen water pump

    i just purchased the boysen water pump and impeller. has anyone replaced thie water pump yet? what is the best way to go abaout it? and after, do i have to wory about air pockets in the coolant? any advice would be great since i have never tackeled this before. thanks

    header pipe recomendation

    i have an 06 kx250 f, i already have a white bro e2 slip on. they do not sell a header solo, only in the whole pkg. what header do you recomend for most power mid and low. also will it match up with the e2 white brothers slip on i already have? thanks
  12. i am 6 ft tall and about 200 lbs. i would like to see if anyone can give me advice as to what suspension setting i should be at for my weight and size. i also ride mostly trails, but am beging to ride more track and I love jumps. please any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    o.k another question. I do plan on changing the pilot and main today. from what I have been advised I will go with a #45 pilot and a #182 main and turn 1 3/4 out. my question is when installing the main and pilot, do you tighten them all of the way? what is the procedure? the 1 3/4 turns out is just on the air fuel screw right? or do I back eacj jet out like that as well? never done this before and although it does not sound difficult and looks easy enough, I would rather save myself time and headaxhes if possible. Thanks for any help or advice..
