  1. thanks for the info, look like ill put it back on my list of bikes to take a look at tomorrow..... any one know what a healthy motor should have in kicking comperssion?
  2. good to know, narrows down my search, know what you saying about the rest of the things a person own`s. Fluids will be droped ASAP for new just for general reasons. So who knows what a healthy motor should have in kicking comperssion?
  3. I read some place tha the 97 cr250(1st year alum frame) was known to strech,/spread and you would have to shim up the motor mounts? how true is this? Also something about the IGN system would cause the rings to turn and lose a top end,but after market pistions/ and good ign. would fix this.... all in all, would a 97 be worth looking at? or should it be passed up as one of those years to avoid? and last, in case its worth anything to look at, what should the comp. be on the guage for a healthy top end?
  4. what should a good comp. pressure be for a 97 and 2001 kx250. should this be done warm or cold. throttle wide open or shut? do these bikes have any known problems what are some things to check. so far my checklist is bearing`s(headset, swing arm, wheeels), comp.,coolant level, oil levels and looks, air filter, sprokets, chain+sliders, forks & shocks for leaks. any thing else you guys can think of? is there a way i can tell if the clutch is on it last legs with out taking it apart. theres a 97 and 2001 both in my price range, amoung anouther brand that are the same years.but I`ll ask about these questions over there not to cause a color war. has anything changed between the 97 and 2001 years
