  1. http://burlington.craigslist.org/mcy/1389924543.html One could prob. talk him down a bit, it could be a decent deal..
  2. I was riding with my buddy who owns a wr426 this weekend and we switched for a while. I really liked the feel of the motor. Its tough for me to explain exactly but I liked the feeling of the high revs, in places that I would go from completly closed throtle to accelerating it felt soooo smoth. My xrr feels like it lugs down so much lower and takes much more time/effort to get powered up. I guess what i'm trying to say is I was really impressed with the throtle response I'm thinking of trying out a pumper carb on the pig to see if that gets me closer to that feeling. I will say this though, I have re-valved my suspension accoriding to BWB's website and I really liked it better than that of the WR.
  3. I lost my front tire out from under me and came down on some rocks still going forward pretty fast, fast enough to jerk the handle back with some good force.
  4. The added strength of the billet sounds attractive. Like Denn says, i'm surprised a broke it in the first place, ive crashed many a time and I didnt think this time was any (maybe a bit) worse then usual. I'll take some pics of it tonight and post them tomorrow. Thanks for the input!
  5. So I busted my stock triple clamp this weekend. Just wondering what are the advantages of replacing it with something other then stock. For instance one from RSW. I am taller, 6'4'' but have some risers and a set of fatbars on it. I was pretty happy with this setup, but don't want to pass up an opportunity to upgade.
  6. check if your your throttle stop is still there. If not I could see this happening.
  7. I have one in central VT that runs well. PM me if interested.
  8. Very good point, I like it!
  9. I think that with the shim stack I have in there, forcing more oil through the stack will help the bottoming effect. I know I have the oil level fairly high right now. I was just talking about dropping the level a bit to help the small chatter get soaked up after cranking up the dampening adjustment.
  10. I should have said in my first post, but this is on an R. My suspension is re-shimed to BWB's racing setup, I am running the dampening setting almost all the way out because I found the setup to be a bit choppy over the small stuff. I have .47kg springs in the front and weigh in about 225. Maybe what i'll try is stiffing up the ajustment a bit and if its to choppy i'll lower the fluid level a bit. These are relativley hard hits, but I agree that its bottoming a bit sooner then it should. thanks!
  11. Hey guys, I put a brace on my fork and I really like it, but on the big hits the bottom of the sides of the front fender hit the brace. Has anyone else seen this? I was thinking of dropping the brace down on the forks. Right now I have the brace as low as it can go but still riding on the solid round part of the fork tubes, if I drop it down it will be on the part of the fork that has multiple contours in it, not sure if I want to do this or not.
  12. I have this noise also and worry about it, I lowered my gearing from stock to 14/51 and it seemed to help by keeping the motor from lugging as much. But it still does it. On dry river beds, really rocky terrain, it sounds liike the thing is going to come apart any moment - especialy if i'm standing up over the bars. Like it was said earlier, hammer the gas and go, it ususally sounds better once the rpms are up. But still glad to hear others have the same noise!
  13. i didnt even notice that, thanks for pointing that out.
  14. Hi all, I have been searching around and posted this question in the wr fourm, but no replies yet. Does anyone know if a 2002 wr 426 carb is the same model as the 2004 yz450 carb? I busted one of the treaded holes that the top plate bolts to and found this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YFZ450-TRX450-TRX400-LTZ450-39MM-FCR-PARTS-CARB_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1171Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a0Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem58814afa8fQQitemZ380126296719QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories basically a yz450 carb missing some parts, my idea was to make 1 carb out of two? Any ideas? Thanks!
