I needed the e-start because knee and hip problems were becoming an issue with me trying to kick start my bike. Racing MX, either at the gate, or if I fell or stalled the bike during a race, I needed to stand on something with my left leg to be able to get the bike started. No issues since I got a Husky with e-start. But, I didn't feel comfortable going offroad with a e-start only bike. That's why I still have my '09 Honda 450x, which has both, and I also carry the lightweight battery backup in case I still have issues with the kickstarter.
