  1. if i have 2 much oil in will that make front okey in 1st bit of travel,then it seems hard and holding on tires me quickly.should i reduce oil by 15ml and see if it goes.valving seems right but still dont seem soft enough when im pushin down in the pits,bakd off clickers the same top and bottom.bak end is fine
  2. i am a mere mortal, i took out std250 cr front springs and put original 450crf ones back at 385ml. he is flyweight compared to me,and when i 1st rode her the front hardly moved except on whoops or hard hits,my armchair ride had gone....
  3. no its billy mac's practice bike,so its well used already.i heard that some honda's are too stiff and stick , should be out this weekend and try .never had prblems before,new bike and all that!!!!
  4. just had a ful revalve,385ml 5cwt oil on std springs for my 103kg weight. i have always had susp back and never been to stiff on my yam or suzuki. not riden yet on track bufeels oil is to much and takes alot to press down on front.is this normal and will it sort itself out on the track or can anyone advise. the person who does my work knows what he is doing and i cannot get him at the moment.
  5. im 40,102kg and still like to ride mx.450 since 03 and now a rmz250.love the bike and suspension sorted for me,results not as good wondering about another 450.maybe a pipe,hi comp piston and quikshot2 will help.im getting a megabomb 4.1 full system and run 13/50 gear.what do you lot think,is it worth it for an old fart!!!! its an 08 bike as well.
  6. put in a wiseco piston,took my time and run in with care.seemed tight and a little oil found near front sprocket.run low speed 25 mins in field.cooled and 1hr later kicked over to ride the same again,then you heard the grinding.gasket has 2 small oilway holes in original,my topend kit supplied did not have these.can clean ali off cams and camchain is fine,piston and bottom is all okey.wht dont these heads have bearings? need to find a head as this is goosed uk bike all pretty with fmf4.1system,kwikshot2 hicomp piston and ready to go.any u.s.a pals sending me a gift,what should i lookfor.

  8. what you mean the chain from front to bak sprocket? its a new sis oring chain,heavy duty and seemstight enough. ive only ridden it 5 times since new sprox and chain.
  9. engine starts and runs sweet,when i let throttle back i get a noise from cam chain side of engine.on the stand it dont happen,only when driving.cam chain tensioned,the other thing is slight oil coming from cover gasket lobes just slightly.could it be loads of back pressure from engine breaking?bike is great but i can't do problems,nedd to kick ride and enjoy with easy maintainance like my old yzf.i luv this rmz and want faith restored in it,please help
  10. can u explain why i have had to stop racing coz timing chain has crunched or jumped?i loose power and it feels like back brake sticking on,engine sound rattley and not normal.does anyone know what tension to put on cam chain or should i pack out spring in tensioner a little.failing this i wonder if i drill out back and put a manual threaded tensioner there it may be a little better.never had this prob with yams,i love this 06 rmz its just this crap idea of a tensioner.i am at compression tdc before i tension chain. help please!!!
  11. make them from ali sheet.i made ali cone inserts as well to get rid of rubber bushes,these are great and all my mates have them as well,thanks to me. i drilled out 26mm rod and split it into 6mm,10mm shims.bought some stainless bolts and that was it,stronger,height adjustable,hardly no cost.it didnt take long too do and bike feels real good.
  12. will i get away with filing the chatter marks out of my outer basket. my clutch is smooth and easy to use,it now wants to be either in or out?? rechecked clutch,plates oil and cable all good,inner basket good,indentations on outer basket from clutch plates. i have been told to file them smooth to help get feel back from clutch when letting it out. will it last very long or will i open gap up between fingers causing clutch plates to move more and hit harder or snap there lugs off??? should i stop being cheep and spend!!!! i ride on a budget and that pays the entry help please
  13. yes plates are well scorched,but as you say theyare all tolerance.holes were drilled the same as originals to duplicate oil pickup.the holes have been there since new.do i go for new steel plates????
  14. my 06 450 seems to either work or not.off the line it bites or dont.i used to be able to feed it in but not now.no wear in basket,plates and oil all good,extra holes for oil to move through in clutch.i always used to be okey feeling the bite but not any more,help if poss!!!

I RUN 20 WAGONS WORTH APPX £80,000 EACH,ALL RUN ON TURBO DIESEL 15/40 OIL.THAT GETS CHANGED EVERY 12 WEEKS,MY 1 1/2 LITRES EVERY WEEKEND HAS KEPT ALL MY CLUTCHES SPOT ON,MY FILTER DONT GET TIME TO COLLECT SHIT AS THE OIL AINT IN THERE LOMG ENOUGH.I HAVE DONE THIS FOR 6 YEARS AND MY FRIEND HAS DONE THIS FOR +10 YEARS,ITS GOOD FOR AIR FILTERS TOO,MAKES YOU AFFORD OTHER BITS,I USED TOO BUY BLUE PUTOLINE FILTER OIL AND MIX IT FOR THE COLOUR,NOW I DONT GIVE A SHIT.MOTOX SHOULD GET BACK TO BASICS NOT START COSTING TOO MUCH TO RUN THE THING. GOOD LUCK,WE ALL NEED IT
