  1. If you've been on the street for 8 years ndsgr, that means you started when you were...16. Oh and BTW you really do give a crap that 19 and 40 year old guys disagree, or you wouldn't keep arguing with them. Here's some statistics: 1 head, 1 butt. Pull it out and realize that folks don't agree on everything and get over it.
  2. Thanks guys. I did have a lock through the wheel and swingarm. And I had a drawstring cover over it. The police said they have a high recovery rate because there are lots of students here with motorcycles/scooters/mopeds. I'll be perusing the local places that sell used bikes...and of course dealers.
  3. Please keep a lookout for my stolen bike! It was taken in Clemson, SC. It's a '99 XR250R w/ no graphics, Supetrapp IDS 2, and Moose handlebars. It's pretty ugly...I doubt that this will get the bike back but I'm open to anything. Thanks Oh yeah...

  5. I'll be replacing valves, putting new pads on a drum brake, replacing fork seals, cam chain and sprocket, on a junked TTR125, if I have the money and the time.
  6. That's what I use too, the d756. They're inexpensive and last a long time. I also like Michelin Starcrosses. They lasted a long time too.
  7. I carry a small backpack with lots of water, a lighter, a knife, duct tape, zip ties, 2 screwdrivers and a socket wrench with the sizes that I need for the bike. I guess this is minimalism compared to some, but the trails I ride on all loop back to the parking lot. If I was going somewhere by myself in an area that is really remote I'm sure I'd carry more. No problems yet except having to ride home slow with no front brake lever.
  8. I think you could get it done Tekk. Just take one of the pieces and try some different paints on. I'm not an expert on paints, but I'm sure there's some paint out there that would work. You could put several coats of a clearcoat over the camo to protect it when riding. You'll probably need a stencil set too. I've seen them sold for people to paint jeeps and trucks camo. And guys, why get down on somebody for having a sense of creativity? Get over it.
  9. I bought my bike with a Supertrapp on it as well. It also has new pipes as well. I'm not sure if Supertrapp made them. They are very wide.
  10. AMSOIL all the way for me. Especially since my buddy is a dealer and gets me good prices. Check this out. Read all about the different oil tests and then see how the different oils stack up. Then consider price... http://www.trustmymechanic.com/motor-oil-bible.pdf
  11. Took me 3 weeks to get mine.
  12. A friend of mine is buying a Raptor 700 EFI off the floor this saturday. I hope he lets me ride it. Don't worry, he's not the get drunk, destroy the environment, and get riding places shutdown type of guy.
  13. You're grandpa must be loaded. I remember running into a telephone pole when I learned to ride on a pw80. I still wonder how I managed that.
  14. I'll be stopping at Enoree on my way home tomorrow and I was wondering if anybody was going to be there. I don't mind riding alone but I'd feel safer if I knew somebody was going to be there. I'll probably be there between 2 and 2:30.
  15. I bought my bike (xr250) with a Supertrapp muffler and a new header set on it. It also has the snorkel removed. I can't really tell you the difference between this one and stock, but the bike has plenty of torque for those big muddy hills. It really starts to pull in the midrange though, and doesn't lose any top end.
