  1. I hear conflicting opinions on these types of micro filters. Is the genuine Yamaha paper filter best for my 06 YZ450F? I hear that the stainless filters change the pumping pressure of the motor due to it's tighter filtration causing higher pumping pressure. Any advice?

  3. Would my 06' YZ450F benefit from the Thunper Talk Decompression Plug, or is it no longer a problem for this model?

    Auto Clutch (06' YZ450F)

Okay, now I know the difference. Thanks (That and the $600 price difference). Which of the 2 products would most benefit a MX racer?
  5. Are the "CEB Clutch System" and the "Rekluse Z-Start Auto Clutch" the same? Will I benefit from using this product on my 2006 YZ450F? I'm new to 4strokes. Interested in buying this, but would like to hear from first hand users. I mostly ride/race MX. Thanks

    06' YZ450F Jetting

Thanks for the advice, I wil ride a lot in the spring at a sand track. (reason for richer main). Will that clarify my friends claim (rides a new RMZ 450) that my bike is lazy off the bottom, or is it just the bikes characteristics. I also have a "Quick Shot". Don't know if it changes anything. Thanks again!
  7. I have changed my stock jetting to the recomended 48 Pilot and 170 main before my 1st ride at NEMX in Andover OH (Indoor track). I noticed some "cracliking" sounds from decceleration. It was around 28 degrees F at the time. Is my pilot still too lean for that temp, or can it be adjusted with the fuel mixture screw? A friend who rode it (he rides a new RMZ 450) thought that it was lazy off the bottom and that it may not be jetted right. I normally ride around 1000 ft above sea level...give or take a couple. Thanks a lot.

    Which Spark Plug? (NGK)

Do all of the new 450's share the same spark plug? I have a spare NGK CR8E plug for my 06' YZ450F and a buddy with a n 06' RMZ 450 needs to borrow one from me. Does the RMZ 450 use an NGK CR8E also? He's coming from work and my place is on the way to his place. anyways, any insight about this?
  9. Just wanted to tell you that your pic was of great help. I did it that way and it now works! Thank you so much. Wish they'd put that visual aid along with the instructions. The timer for the 2 stroke worked no matter what location of the wire it was wrapped around. Thanks again.
  10. Thanks a lot! I will try that and let you know if it worked.
  11. I'm having trouble getting my engine timer to work. It's the 2nd one I put on with no success. Does anyone have any pointers? Have had no problems with them on 2 strokes? Should it be wrapped closer to the plug, or under the protective tubing?
  12. I'm having trouble getting my engine timer to work. I returned the last one thinking it was defective, and this new one doesn't work. I'v had it on all my 2 strokes and they've worked fine. Is it installed differently? I have an 06 YZ450F. I followed the instructions and wrapped it around the coil wire and nothing. Should it be wrapped closer to the plug, or under the protective tubing?
