  1. Where can I get OEM handguards for an 1983 xr350?
  2. I need a bigger gas tank! Which is the better one for the XR4?
  3. Hawkins Woods High are the same height as the CR High. Only taller ones are KX High, taller by 1/2in.
  4. I'm an addicted Bar Bender and I've used both bars Renthal and Pro Taper. The Pro Tapers are way more superior in strength. They are the hardest bars to bend back into shape, almost impossible. You can bend the Renthals back into shape way easier than the Pro Tapers.
  5. I changed to the $$ Denso IXU01-24 RACING PLUG. It takes a 16mm socket instead of an 18mm, way easier to change. I put on choke, give throttle 5 twists, starts on 1st or 2nd kick.
  6. I was told by Cycle Riders, That Pro Taper has discontinued all the colors except Gold for there handlebars and that they are closing out the CR HIGH bend line all together. Anyone know of this?
  7. I want to give thanks to my Cycra Solution Handguards. On the 2nd endo after landing on me, the bike came down and landed hard on the right handguard on shale rock. The plastic is shredded, the handguard is a little bent, and the solution bar is a little bent, but my ProTaper bars are straight. Amazing!
  8. After the crash, when I woke up, I drove it about 5mi. It felt different to me. I thought there might be an easy way to check the forks without taking them apart. Is there?
  9. I just did a couple of endos going down a steep rocky hill. The XR4 needs a new subframe and fenders. Where is best place to get them? How do I tell if the forks are straight.
  10. Eddie, On my XR4 with 142,52,#3,1-1/2 at 5000ft, you told me to change back to the OEM needle from the FactoryPro Ti needle. Another issue with carb is that there does not seem to be any difference in turning pilot screw. Under 1 turn it starts to miss, but above 1 turn to 4 turns it seems to stay the same idle, no change. My ? is, Does this indicate slow jet is too rich? And will changing back to OEM needle have any effect on this issue? Thanks

  12. My XR4 with Gordons mods at 5000ft with jetting 142,52,3rd,1-1/2 runs great except when throttle is wicked at low RPMs, it will stumble. With bike stationary it sometimes dies after coughing and sputtering when throttle is wicked if you don't turn throttle back right away. Should I move to the 4th or 2nd groove on needle? I have a FactoryPro Ti needle # 0980g5 73n7-40uy-ti. Does this needle have the same taper as stock?
  13. There are several choices for the xr4 cam, does altitude effect the cam choice? Which is the better cam for a 426 kit with 11:1, free flowing intake, Q exhaust, and pumper above 7000ft ? I do not need a screeming top end, low and mid works for me. I'm the only one I race, and sometimes I win.

I just took the xr4 out after doing the suspension, rebuilding and cleaning the carb, and grinding header welds to 1'' along with air box mods and ignition up grades and stock exhaust with HRC spark arrester and Baja tip. I have 2 questions. I could not decrease idle when it was hot with the screw, why? The temp was 230 after a 38 mile rough enduro in 90min on a 80 degree day, is this normal? Or is jetting off--it felt good. I'm at 142, 52, 2nd clip on a 73n7-40uy-ti Titanium needle at @5000ft. I use HP-4 20-50W Oil.
