  1. UPDATE: I did put exrta oil in my trany and went out to the local moto track today. I didn't hear a peep out of it all day, but it was in my mind when I was hitting the 70' double. Anyways, I really think the idler gear making the noise is not true and tend to believe the main or counter shaft gears binding on the shaft to be more of the real problem. The idler gear wouldn't make the bike move in neutral. As for the extra oil??? I still want mine torn down and Honda to flip the bill.
  2. WOW, i just picked up a new 06 450 and mine is making the same noise and is also lunging forward. i have ridden mine twice, the first day i heard the noise and then it went away, yesterday i pulled off the track heard the noise. i put it in neutral and it was making the same noise, i blipped the throttle and the bike jerked forward. i shut it off and restarted it. the noise was gone. i rode the bike 3 more motos,,, no noise. a friend said he heard three other bike make the same noise. i called the dealer and they said they have never heard of this. my fear is hitting the face of a big jump and have the tranny lock up,,, wouldn't that be fun? i am taking mine back to the dealer, but my fear is that they will not get it to make the noise.
