  1. discovered my dad's 07 450X and my girlfriends 07 250X had been taken from our garage Thurs or Fri, had to be mid day, someone had balls of steel to come on our property, cut down 3 fences and cross the back of 3 other properties in mid day with 2 bikes, luckily both insured, but if anyone sees an 07 250X with a lowered factory seat, scott's stabilizer, silver RM low Pro tapers and a red dirt diva sticker on the front or an 07 450X all stock except gearing and pro taper risers and universal black bars, both had lic plates and Acerbis mirrors and were street legal.

  3. Seems like they are a bunch of IDIOTS! Its not your job to verify to them it runs before they take the engine apart, it is their job. Any good tech is going to verify a concern or lack there of before disassembing an engine. As far as how long it is taking, they must be retarded! You can go step by step in diagnosing a problem like this and be done with EVERY test possible in an hour or so. Good luck! I would still give Honda a call and let them know what this dealer is doing to their reputable name. Don't just let the svc mngr get away with his rudeness and lack of doing his job because someone else is taking care of you, the business owner needs to know from YOU.
  4. no issues, I run the Scotts submount which is 1" higher and Pastrana FMX Protapers for a total raise from stock of about 2.5" including mounts/bars, I turned the throttle housing so the cables come out the bottom rather than the top for more slack in the cables, but it's not necesary.
  5. I've switched to Metzeler 6 days Extreme tires, they come on the KTMs, GREAT tire, front has more bite than anything I've ever ran and the rear tire hooks great too, they seem to be holding up much better than Dunlops and Maxxis I've ran in the past. Go with the 140 rear though, they run much smaller than normal Dunlop/Maxxis tires, I got the 120 rear and it looks like a 250F 100/100-18 tire, 140 next time for sure
  6. I'm in love with the Metzeler 6 day Extreme tires, especially the front, best front tire I've ever ridden, and it's DOT legal to boot, the rear is a good tire too, I got the 120 rear and it is a little small, I'd go for the 140 next time, closer to a normal 110/120 width. They are the tires that come factory on KTM EXC models. I'm not a fan of the D606 rear, it lasts forever, but traction just sucks in real rough situations, compund is too hard, never ran a Pirelli, but the scorpion or MXCS tires look pretty dang aggressive and are DOT legal. My vote is for the MEtzelers, you will not be disapointed.
  7. Stitch learned everything he knows from Randy at RMR. Never used him, but hear he is good.
  8. NewMexico

Wing mountain just north of Flagstaff, Awesome single track trails and some good natural terrain jumps in the gravel pits
  9. RMR for sure for revalves and such, used to be Motoworks, Randy, he is good and very reasonably priced, if you just need servicing and or seals, PM me, I do that stuff on the side
  10. F.I. needs to be on the 450X for sure!
  11. I'm 6'5" 225-230lbs and I'm running .50 fronts and 6.0 rear with a revalve and it is about perfect for trail/desert riding, still bottom slightly on big hits and hard g-out landings, but it's not a moto bike, so I deal with it. I'm using factory connection springs, reccomended by my suspension tuner

I've been looking at going the opposite direction, from home (Casa Grande, AZ) to Glamis/Ocotillo, just plated my 450X this winter and have been running all over southern AZ.......
  13. Maybe try one of those new 3rd party title agencies, had kind of the same issue with an old car I built for a friend of mine, went to the 3rd party title agency and they will, should I say, maybe, look past minor indiscrepencies like that to be able to collect thier fee, as that is the business they are in is making a profit. They don't make a dime if they don't register your machine. Good luck, I would try one of those first.

Riding is definitely worth the move, I've never lived back east but have plenty of family from upstate NY and have visited several times, nothing compared to the amount of public lands we have out here to ride, plus year round riding can't be beat, ride desert all year but head 1 to 2 hours north in the summer for 80-90 deg weather and riding in the woods. Cultured stone work is handled mostly by low dollar imigrants it seems like mostly around here as well as almost any jobs in that type of field, as far as mechanic jobs go, I am one also and the market is very thin right now with this crazy economy, last year I made almost 1/2 of what my 10 year avg has been. Scary situation in this field too, dealers are closing left and right and same with small independant shops. However, you can find VERY cheap houses on the outskirts of the city where in some places, you can still ride right off into the desert, and like mentioned before, you can street legal most bikes for under $100 and with a MC license, you can go anywhere then. We regularly ride from my house in Casa Grande and cover over 100 miles including 30-40 miles of great trails with only having to ride 3-5 miles of actual roads.

yup, had a ranger inform us of this one day out at Wildcat parking area, said we are responsible for checking for pollution advisory before heading out and would be ticketed if riding on said days.....LAME!
