I am in the process of changing the fork seals on my 04 YZ 450 and am just wondering this. They say in the manual to wind the Rebound damper adjuster all the way out before install the cap bolt (top cap). Can someone tell me, once the forks are back together and you turn the adjuster all the way in does the base of the rebound damper actually bottom out on the push rod (the rod that slides into the damper rod). If it does, is this how the rate of flow of oil is controlled, IE by the base of the damper adjuster controlling the flow of oil over the top of the push rod.
Sorry if this is a numpty question. I have done a search but could not find what I was looking for. I know there is plenty of info on what clicker does what. But is there somewhere that will tell me how it does it. I would like to know how the internals actually work.
