  1. thanks for the post! this helped allot!
  2. hello, im looking for any advice i can get to set up my 06' crf450r suspension for trails/woods. i couldnt find a thread on re-valving an 06 for woods. it doesnt feel bad now but its time for a rebuild and i figured if im in there i should try to dial it in. im 190lbs and ride aggressively. thanks
  3. anyone know what the stock spring rates are for 2008 crf250r? just bought a 08' crf250r for my girl and trying to dial in the suspension. also should i re-valve the forks on the 250. i removed a shim on my 08' 450 mid-valve and it made a huge difference. have people been doing this on the 08' 250? any suggestions on valving and spring rate for a 160lb C rider would be great. thanks

    06 CRF450r to x Gear Box Swap?

i went with a 13oz heavier fly wheel, it made a huge difference on very technical terrain. you still have to work the clutch but i never stall anymore and it seems to have more traction in lower gears.
  6. im going to go try a rebuild right now!

Added Flywheel Weight - now bike cuts out

well, just installed a trail tech stator today and took it on a short ride, it seems the problem is fixed. if i knew i would have to go through all these issues and spend this much cash i would have just done a complete flywheel/stator/lighting kit. i hope this helps crf people in the future.

i just filed down the solder on the trigger and no luck, it still runs like crap. i have a trail tech stator on the way, i hope this fixes the problem.

well, after spending more then 2 hours on the phone today with steahly and trailtech i think we got it right. you may or may not have the correct flywheel and still have the problem, some honda's cdi box is not compatible with the heavier flywheel. mike38 and seehogs might be correct and you could fix it by filing down some of the solder, but if not your only other option is to buy a trail tech stator or go back to the stock flywheel.

jethro450, i just spoke with trailtech which actually manufactures steahly flywheels and they said the problem is that there are 2 different flywheels, one for a lighting stator and one for the stock stator. you most likely have one for the lighting stator but still have the stock stator which is causing the problem. hope this helps, they are sending me a the correct flywheel and i will let you know how it works next week.

i ride a 06' crf450r on single track and ride it hard. i was having problems with overheating until i installed a boyesen super cooler water pump and engine ice coolant. i haven't had a problem since.
