  1. I bought the 2006 WR 450 F this year after considerable research, talking to mechanics and etc. The motor in the WR 450 stands tall above the CRF 450x. The yamaha has 3 piston rings, the Honda 1. The valves in the Honda go out fast and need constant adjustment. As far as the ride goes, the WR450 turns rough bumps into butter. I'm extremely pleased with the dicision I made to get the Yamaha. I ride and live in Baja so I have put it to the test.
  2. I bought mine from www.justgastanks.com The price was the best.
  3. I'm looking to buy a desert tank for a wr450. What tanks fit and look good?
  4. I'm looking to buy a desert tank for my 06 yz450f bike. What tanks fit and do you recommend?
  5. I'm buying a 06 wr450 for myself, but my son wants a 06 yz450f for lighter weight. We desert ride in Baja. How does the yz450 trail ride. How about with the suspension settings softened up a bit?

  7. Thanks guys. I appreciate it.
  8. Do you guys know if the Aim smog stuff is just on the Calif. model or do all the wr450's come with it?
  9. Do you guys know if all the wr450s from all states have the aim or just the California model?
  10. Do you guys know if the 49 state wr450 has the ais or is it just the California model?
  11. Thanks Gusano! They advertise for a lot less than others but they sound a little fishy. I sent them an email two days ago and they've yet to respond.
  12. I've been doing some searching myself in this area and can tell you that if you do a thread search for valves & piston maintenance in the Honda section you'll get a ton of threads showing problms and how to do repairs. In the Yamaha section, there's practically nothing. That speaks volumes to me. The thread searches I did though were talking about the high compression liquid cooled bikes and not the air cooled.
  13. Hi Gentlemen, I'm looking to buy some bikes and have seen in CycleTrader advertisements from WWW.MOTORCYCLE-BROKERS.COM… and am wondering if any of you have purchased from them. They say they can ship anywhere in the U.S. for $200. They are based in Canada and you have to send them a wire transfer or a cashier's check. Want to be certain before I commit to something like this.
