  1. Along with jetting, your exhaust must be dialed in.Because any jetting changes or changes to your exhaust (packing changes, dents removed, pipe gaskets) will make your previous work worthless. If it is true, here is my question. My stock YZ450F runs differently with a different stock header pipe than a different year stock head pipe? The stock '06 head pipe P/N is 2S2-14611-00-00 the Flange is stamped Y-5TA. The other pipe is of unknown year and the flange is stamped Y-5JG. any kind of info would be a help or just decoding the flange numbers would be a help.

    Trashed motor thread

NO, nothing is welded. what you see on the top is the piston crown. Those are melted blow through holes and the flat part below what you see on top is the first ring groove.

    parts

This should help with the used parts finding process and to see what parts came on different year bikes. Go to www.motogrid.com. click on the Yamaha logo and on the right side click the pulldown in the quick part lookup for the brand of bike then put in the part number that you are looking for. Leave the model box blank and it will tell you where that part number was used on all year bikes. This is a great help when searching for used parts.

    Villopoto at my track

WRONG, The track is on the Damn side of Lake Perris in Moreno Valley. The lake was compleated in 1973 and the fairgrounds were compleated probably 5-7 years ago. The urban sprawl has moved closer and closer to the track, not the other way around. Also the fairgrounds have one of the west coasts best sprint car tracks around. we could hear the cars on friday night even 5 miles away. Tell me know how long those people will take to close the track down because they moved in right next to these places and then complain about them?

  11. looked at motogrid.com. If you click on the genuine parts pic near the top it will give two sections for parts finding. What is cool is if you use the "Quick part lookup", Only put in the make and the part number that you need and it shows what years and models that part number was installed on. IT Does Not Show Part changes part number model or specification changes but it is a great feature if you need something on E-bay and you don't know if it will fit. Try it out.

    Home made "Ti" glide plate

There are wings on it and I left the plastic pump guard on also. I do take it off every oil change, keeps it clean and clean out the foam every time.
  15. I wanted something different and I found some scrap Ti at my work. Ran it two seasons of desert riding, works great, saved my frame many times, never gets in the way, it has protected my dip stick from a stick once and nobody has one like it. I picked up the three holes from the factory plate with nylon spacers and the front mount is an aluminum bar that goes across the frame to the screw. The hardest part was rolling the Ti in the roller machine to match the contour of the factory frame.
