Reverse the gears on a supermoto??

Is there anybody out there that knows if there are any kits that you can buy to change direction of the gearstick so that the first gear is up and the rest is down as the have it in GP and other roadracing? I have problem to reach under the peg to change gear up when leaning the bike. And I have driven racebikes before and liked the idea of doing this mod. Anybody have a qlue? I know that I can use a higher gear in the turn but I would really like to try this. Thanx!

    My supermotoproject for 2007

...Is now officially started. The bike is a street-legal WR450 from 2004. I'm going to paint the frame black, polish and freshen up as much parts as possible, change the suspension, change piston, and make the bike really personal and so on... Everything is done by myself so if you have any questions, just ask. I tuned the engine last winter by doing a portjob, changing the valves to stainless plus adding a Kibblewhite springkit to deal with the new valveweight, YZ exhaust cam, Dynojet stage II, AP-mod, K&N filter, opened airbox, own built last part of exhaust with an Akrapovic silencer. The bike produces 53,65Hp at the rear wheel.

    Post Pics Of Your Supermoto!!

My ride for 2008 is now finnished. I've owned this bike for two years now and I'm very pleased with it. What's new for this season is: Industrial paint (I don't know the english word for it, but it's hard as hell) on the frame and yokes. New shimsetting in the rear shockabsorber. ASV billet clutch with hotstarter. Aim laptimer, to make trackdays more fun. Only the neccesary is left of the electrical system. A few new stickers. The front exhaust system is wrapped with exhaust bandage. Everything has been assembled and overhauled.

Yes, I have a titanium header. So I placed mine in the rear stainless part. Above the svingarm just behind the rear suspension. See earlier picture.

It had about 130hp @ rear wheel before. I build this bike to stay in one piece so I decided not to take out "more than" 230hp @ rear wheel after. But that was just about enough. A frien of mine drives a BMW car and he drove next to me on the freeway in 230km/h when I just use the throttle to pop up a wheelie

Actually not. With two little kids and a full time job time is one of the things that I don't have too much of. This is "therapy" for me to getaway from everything and focus on something else. This is actually a "small" project compared to a CBR929 that I converted to a RC211V turbo Rossi replica 2002-2003. I spent over 1000hours on that bike and updated colours and changed to carbs from injection to season 2. Check pics from first season here: http://www.sporthoj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1855 and second (update) here:http://www.sporthoj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27772 Completed bike pics in the middle of page 5. That's ONE HELL OF A PROJECT!!! Lucky me that I got really good payed for it when I sold it.

No, that akra is originally from a Honda SP1. It's shortened a bit and it's a very nice sound from it. Not loud and screaming at all. Plus that it let's out the exhausts very well. I'll be carful filling the tank but so far I havn't had any problems with this.

Thanks for that! Actually I even counting on crashing with it. I lost counting of how many times I crashed last year..

Come to thinks about it. Perhaps you wonder why I choosed signal yellow rimstripes when nothing else on the bike is in this color. When I choosed them I saw the complete picture. It's becourse I have a blue, black and white Spyke leathersuit with signal yellow kneesliders and my name on the back in the same color. So When I ride the bike I see those things match.

The new graphics.. Clean but not stock. Just the way I want it! View from the "cockpit" with the aluminium/plastic barkbusters mounted to make sure that my ISR cylinder survives crashes.

This is the new combined bracket in aluminium that shall hold both the headlight and the MX-plate. Switching between them takes less than a minute. ...Mounted on the bike. The USB port is easy accessed /hidden behind the left sidepanel. The stock enduro headlight mounted in the new bracket. Sorry about the bad quality of the pics.

No, worry, Mate! I've been busy with the family for a while now so the project has been standing still. I'll see if I can sneak out and throw on the decals soon.. Abot the rim info, Youre welcome.

Thanks! I use 3,5 and 5,0 inch rims and there's no problem with the chain on this model. I have a friend that build on 06 YZ and he had that problem if the chain was a little too loose. But on the 04 WR, No prob. Lots of space! The chain doesn't chew tires either as on many KTM's etc.

That cylinder IS crazy! I can really recommend them. It's also adjustable in two ways. There's going to be graphics on the bike. they arrived today. I also built a combined support for the MX-numbereplate and Enduro headlight in aluminium today. Pic's will come.

Thanks for all comments. It's fun to read your thoughts about the bike. As for the brakes I used them last year too. They really are BRAKING!! I bought the mastercylinder from the swedish guy that makes them Acke Rising. Check his page; www.isr-brakes.se I can really reccomend it! I tried the FTE 17mm radial that is std on the KTM 560SMR but that one was not good with the Braking caliper, I also tried the 4 pistons but with the same result. The lever almost touched the fingers while braking and it felt as if it was air in the system. And I'm sure that it was NOT! I bleeded it 150 times I will not ride at night so I guess it doesn't matter witch one I choose. but I think I will go for the last one. I don't have any problems with the clutch so I don't need to go hydralic. I like the feeling of the one I've got. I thought the rims was quite nice

And what light do you like best? Note that this is supposed to be blue with clear lenses Or this? This one is my favorite, it think.. Or this, prehaps??

    My supermotoproject for 2007

I skipped everything "uneccesary" like switches on handlebar to flasher and headlight, horn, etc. What I still have left is: Light front/rear, ignition/charging (ofcourse), brakelight front/rear, everything to the Wideband commander (logging, lambda, etc.) Everything to the trailtech (rpm, watertemp, wheelsensor, 12V). The ISR mastercylinder is now in place... ...like the matching floating 2 piston supermotocaliper from Braking and the wheelsensor to the Vapor. And the bike, dressed on. Now all that's left is a new headlight, When everything else is updated my stock enduro light makes me . Damn you Stranglersfan, for giving me ideas What do you guys think, this clean look or a stickerset for the tank and wings? Any ideas for that?

Thanks for the positive feedback! Now the rims have got a facelift. Braking 320/240 discs are in place. (I used these rims and discs last year too so I had to change som thing on them to make them "new".)
