  1. Thanks, I appreciate the explanation.
  2. That's good to hear. I'm really looking forward to 14.xx volts at the battery.
  3. I keep it on a battery tender but apparently even though it shows a green light (fully charged) that doesn't mean the battery is in good condition-so I've been told.
  4. It's funny you should post here, as I discovered this problem after completing the Free Power (Electrical that is). I thought, "Oh crap, what did I do wrong." I guess it was just coinindental as Eddie told me earlier this year that my battery was going bad and I haven't started the bike in a while. key off 13.2 key on 10.5 push start button 3 (w/ the starter relay crackling/popping) Do you think my numbers are low because of the battery and they will be better after I install my new battery?
  5. I'll probably get yelled at for this, but, I hooked my car batter up via jumper cables and left the key to the car out of the ignition. I pushed the starter button and as soon as I heard the engine turn over I let go of the button and took off the cables. (I wanted to make sure I didn't overload my bike's electrical system.) I ran an Amp test through the positive terminal and with the key off there is no draw so it looks like my new battery should have me all set.
  6. Just got back from the neighbor's house who helped me diagnosis the problem. The battery's bad. The good new is that I just ordered one of these a few days ago. http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=645797 Good thing I didn't find out about Eddie's setup a few days from now after I bought a battery from someone else like some of the others from that thread.
  7. 2003 DRZ400E When I push my starter switch there is a crackling/popping sound from the starter relay and the engine does nothing. The electronics (computer, headlights, etc.) all have power. Please, give me the good news that it's a simple fix.
  8. Noooooo. I already wrote in down in ink. You already scouted the area; now we need to ride it.
  9. I guess I didn't look as thoroughly as I thought. Here it is: http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/tools/t-6_combo_lever/ http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/tools/3-8_drive_adapters_for_t-6_combo_lever/
  10. That's the second place I checked. After, TT, of course.
  11. Awhile ago, I heard about a box axle wrench that comes with a 1/4" or 1/2" ratchet drive that inserts into the box so that you have an axle wrench and ratchet wrench in one tool. Does anyone have one of these or know how to find out more about it? It sounds like a neat tool for my tool bag, but all my searches came up empty. Thanks Sorry, if I put this in the wrong area.
  12. How did the rack hold up? Would you buy it again? It looks like it wasn't too loaded.
  13. sweet. check it out. http://expn.go.com/expn/feature?name=sx12video
  14. I have a 2003 DRZe. There are times when I wish I had a rack for camping equipment. I did a search and all of the advice seems geared toward the S as the racks bolt to the sub-frame which the E doesn't have. Anyone have any advice for mounting a rack on an E? Are there racks made specifically for bikes without a sub-frame?
