Which part of Tahoe are you going to be at? How far do you mind driving to ride. There is a few trails on the South shore area.I hear good things about Pinenuts in Nevada. North Tahoe/Truckee has Posser Pit/ Boca area. Farther north is Packer Lake/Downeville. Here's a map http://www.southbayriders.com/maps/ridingareas/index.php?show=offroad
  3. OHMVR Commission will hold their April meeting in Hollister at Veteran Memorial Hall. Having been informed of the release of the new report, I made a point of making public comment at the Board of Supervisors meeting yesterday morning, alerting the Supervisors to the OHMVR meeting next month. I understand that the Board of Supervisors plan to place an item regarding Clear Creek on their agenda of their April 5 meeting. I do not have any more details about the OHMVR Commission meeting at this time and could not find any details on the State Parks web site. I also understand that the commission wishes to tour Clear Creek on April 6th. This is our chance, the California OHMVR Commission want to open Clear Creek. They have given the BLM $ 7,000,000.00 of our green sticker money. And then closed CCMA more info http://www.southbayriders.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=144

  5. Are you talking trans oil??? I use Mobil 1 10-40 motorcycle oil in my 300xc trans. Works great, tried 15-50 rockoil in trans, didn't like the way it shifted so i went to the 10-40. Shifts great and has all the additives needed for the clutch. I use Mobil 1 2 stroke racing oil. Bought all I can find, been discontinued.
  6. If they closed it, it for a good reason. If it's wet it's like riding on greasy snot. An hour south and you could have at Hollister Hills. Top of Hollister is sandy soil. Wetter the better. Lower field is sticky slick clay. That will close lower field.
  7. Called and talked to Sky Murphy. Same bull Sh*t story. maybe Nov. 1 now.
  8. DIES report supposed to released Nov 1st, 2009. We're waiting! CCMA news Info at http://www.friendsofclearcreekmanagementarea.org/ or http://www.southbayriders.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=144
  9. Put in the other needle that came with the bike, N2ZW #2 clip. Make sure the carb is clean. If you want to come on smoother/lower rpm put in the red spring. Other info http://ktmtalk.com/index.php?showforum=10
  10. From Napa, I'd look at Upper Lake/ Penny Pines. Go north on Highway 29, West side of Clear Lake to the north end and your there. All of low elevation areas are hot right now. Our best riding is the cooler times. Coming from CO those guys have to put their bikes away for winter and our riding is just beginning. Maybe this will help. http://www.southbayriders.com/maps/ridingareas/index.php?show=offroad
  11. Crossed and eyed balled the PCT above Sierra City, behind the Sierra Buttes. That trail is begging for us to ride on!!!!! Late 60s you were able to drive to a fire look out at a point called Spanish Peak. West of Quincy. It's now wilderness area.
  12. Stay away from Troll Trail if you are solo. You may be ok Troll can have it's way with you. Rest of the park is easy street.
  13. It's still called Power Line from what I remember. There are a couple of single track trails that go up the hill from there. That ends up on a paved road. Go about a mile west/right on the paved road will come to a jeep trail that is a fun fast hill climb. Road 12N01D, map link http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/ltbmu/documents/atm/mvum/mvum_ltbmu_south_Esize_20071210.pdf
  14. USFS office I think is on College Rd/Dr. http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/ltbmu/contact/ Not that much riding around south shore, but what there is, is pretty fun single track.http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/ltbmu/recreation/ohv/ohvtrails.shtml I was up there last summer took my 525 KTM without a plate. I got a recreation map that included all the trail systems. Tons of mountain bike trails. There is more riding North Shore/Truckee area. Call http://www.thinairmoto.com/ these guys are suppose to show my friend around this summer. He bought a new snow mobile this past winter from them. Prosser Pit east of Truckee has some fun stuff. http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/tahoe/recreation/tkrd/ohv.shtml Hope this helps, send me a pm if you need more info
  15. Just auto tech trick is to put a little gasket sealer on outside edge of seal, while still wet install seal. Helps seal slide in easier and seal outer edge. seals will leak there too. Grease or auto trans assembly jelly on rubber seal. Dry seal will burn and leak.
