    Poll anyone? (china dual-sport poll)

    2006 Kazuma Cheetah 200: 2600km on the clock and going strong. No problem other than blown headlamp globe. BTW, changed rear sprocket from 50 to 44 teeth and changed the bike for the better.
  2. To the experts. Please identify my bike engine as fitted on my Kazuma Cheetah 200. Engine number starts with 167FML##### and has a bore stroke of 63.5 x 62.2 mm. It is a pushrod OHV configuration. Is this a good engine

    Chinese Dual sports - Where'd you get yours?

    Penguin My Cheetah 200 has an OHV / pushrod arrangement. No timing chain to replace eventually. Basic, simple and easy to maintain. About sprockets, I changed the rear 50 teeth sprocket down to a 46 teeth. The difference quite noticeble and added to my topgear speed about 14 km/h at the same rpm. What surprised me most, is the pull away from standstill. It is now actually much faster out the blocks after the sprocket change than before. My bike is mainly used for commuting to work and back on tarred roads (60 km round trip daily) and to date had no problems what so ever. Starts within two turns with choke in the mornings. In fact, I fitted a windscreen this afternoon and it looks actually nice with it. It is getting cold over here now and at 05h00 in the mornings the wind is a killer on one's chest. Hopefully the screen will do wonders - will tell tomorrow....

If I may add Penguin; when all bikes were Truimps, AJS's, BSA's Nortons, BMW's etc etc many moons ago, the coming of Japanese bikes were frown apon very unfavourably, as is the case with Chinese bikes now. Nowadays, Japanese bikes are the norm others are judged against. So, perhaps in a few years time they will be part and parcel of the biking scene. That said, in my country the Chinese bikes are available for quite a few years now and have a healthy following, so much so, that some Banks do finance some of the better known brands such as the Kazuma

    Yamoto 200cc chinese bike from day-one

    I stated earlier that my Kazuma Cheetah 200 cruises comfortable at about 110 - 120 kph. However, she is revving a bit high for my liking (no rev counter) at 110 kph which is my cruising speed on a 62 km round trip to work and back. She easily pulls to 130 kph and then develops serious valve bounce due to over revving the motor. Due to this I'm considering changing the sprockets. Incidently, at the back is a 50 teeth sprocket ex factory (checked twice) and am a bit surprised as, according to this forum, most Chinamans have 56 teeth rear sprockets..... The front I have not counted yet. My question; is it better to down step at the rear or up step the front sprocket? I'm considering a 42 - 43 rear sprocket. Would the difference be noticeable? Anyone sprocketed a Cheetah 200 - any info appreciated.

    Ohbowhntr I am happy with my Cheetah 200. Had no trouble whatsoever this far, electrical or machanical to date, except for a few loose screws. Really enjoy it. BTW, I only use it on tarred roads.....Even the plastics and paintwork is as good as any Japanesse bike. Mine is a metallic blue with white trim.

    Just happenend to bump into this site - hello everyone Interesting topic this. About a month ago I bought myself a Kazuma Cheetah 200 scrambler/road bike. Actually, it is a very different animal than the GY series. The motor looks and sounds serious - black powercoated with cooling fine in the front/bottom. I have to admit that it is built to a price and here and there the Jap bikes are better finished, but considering the price difference, it is a bargain to purchase one. The only gripe I have with my machine is the fact that it does not have a rev counter . Other than that, no complains, heck, it even has inverted gas shocks upfront and electric start. To date I have travelled about 1200 km (750miles) with mine and gave it a once over and a service at about 500 km. After setting the tappets, she goes like clappers. I was a bit surprised to discover that the valve gear it pushrod activated, but then again, so is one of the alltime greats - Hemi V8! I use this bike for commuting to work and back - 62km roundtrip (about 40 miles) - and to date had no problems except for running out of gas once. The manual gives the tank volume as 9L and infact is only 6L Nevertheless, I have not counted my sprocket teeth yet, but my Cheetah cruises easily (half throttle) at 110 - 120 kmph. (69 - 75mph) and once had the clock on 135 kmph! I checked my speedo against my motorvechile speedo which is quite accurate and at 90 kmph the bike clock was on par. My wife followed me home in the car after my "out of gas" episode and confirmed that I travelled in excess of 110 kmph on average back home. Interesting though, a couple of years ago I owned a Yamaha XT500 thumper and I have to confess that I prefer the Cheetah 200 above it. The 200 have the same soundtrack, albeit with less vibration, is a lighter bike and more nimble to handle and of course the electric starter......
