    duke 2 as only bike?

I just got rid of mine and am kicking myself already. I have ridden everything and the DUke is the most fun out of all of them. I had the mods done and it was really fun. My friends on 600's and 1000's could not stay in site through the twisties!!! Have fun and hold on to it as long as possible.

    625 SMC-How is it?

I have owned everything from a 600 to 1000 CBR, 1200 Muscle bike, an Aprilia with full mods, and have ridden everything in between. I also have a 2000 Duke and love it. For track events the suspension could be a little firmer, but for anything else it is very good and the most fun bike I have ever ridden. I have been looking at a SMC for a little over a month now but I think I am going to keep the Duke and do a few more modifications to it. It currently has KTM Y-pipe and jet kit, Arrow carbon mufflers, Air box lid removed, and some other minor items. I plan on more things for it but for now, like the SMC, it is almost to much fun!!!!!!

625 SMC or a Duke II?

I took my Duke on a 2 hour ride both ways this past weekend to see how it was on long rides. I was impressed, the vibration didn't really bother me. It was actually quite comfortable! As for the soft wheels, I hear horror stories about them but I have had great luck with mine running regular air psi. I jump everything I can find "on the street" that the suspension travel can handle. That is where the SMC would be more fun because of a little less weight and alot more travel! I have heard alot about the carb swap for the Duke. Does it really make that big of a difference? I am always looking for more power!! I am taking the Duke to the dragstrip tonight at Mooresville to see how it will run. Just curious! I have a friend on a GSX-R 750 I am going to beat, HA! Stranger things have happened. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

625 SMC or a Duke II?

I see you have a 400SM. How do you like it? My buddy had one and loved it except for the lack of power to the Duke (60HP!)

625 SMC or a Duke II?

Hotcorner. I ride a Duke and absolutly love it!! I was thinking of getting an SMC also. The Duke is more hard core for on road handling and cool styling. The SMC is more street legal Supermoto, meaning that it has alot more travel and dirtbike styling. I think the fuel capacity is less also. They are the same but different. It depends on your personal taste and riding style. I live in NC and am trying to find people to ride with. I have some friends that want to make a trip to the Dragon soon. Stay in touch.

    Raptor jetting issues!

What jets are in it now and what gas are you runnig? If the plug is black and wet then it is to rich. If it wet the determine if it is oil or fuel.
  11. Nope, I haven't been to the Bully Shop. I own my own business in Cornelius for retail and installation of aftermarket and custom motorcycle/ATV parts & accesories. If you know Nick you can ask him about me and my work. We should try to meet up to ride. When can you get out?
  12. No I am not Nick. I am friends with Nick though. My name is Barry. Are you the guy with the KLR 650?
  13. Concord Mills, I am out that way often. I have a friend/riding companion that works a Excel. What kind of bike do you have? I have a Duke/Aprilia/Buell. I love to ride every type on or off road. Hope to hear from you soon so we can get together to ride. Thanks.
