  1. I decided to spring for this one. My buddy has the 1-bike version and likes it http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160356104844&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3AEOIBSA%3AUS%3A1123 The price is sure right
  2. Maybe this will help - anyone have experience with Joe Hauler or VersaHauler DUAL dirtbike haulers? As these things cost [at least] as much as a small trailer, clearly I must feel it's going ot be useful. http://www.discountramps.com/double_motorcycle_carrier.htm http://www.joehauler.com/doublehaulers/doublehaulers.shtml
  3. One bike will be a KTM 65 or a Honda XR80 depending on what we're doing. Sometimes it will be both of them. The other times, the inboard one will be my Husky 610 (me and one of the kids). I have a small trailer (and a big 'un), but the HOA is so much fun to deal with, that taking it out is its own endeavor. PLUS I'm in CA, using a carrier means I can go 70 rather than 55 (limit for any vehicle with a trailer). Most frequently, we go to the track 4 miles from my house. Just about anything will work for that. However we will also be going to Ocotillo Wells, which is 75 miles from my house, or the Pala track (40 miles), and not having to tow the trailer up and down the hills means quite a bit. And that speed limit thing too, of course. So, trust me, I know why I want one and I already have plenty of options to get it there EXCEPT a pickup, which is not in the cards.
  4. Respectfully accepted. Google had already hooked me up just fine for input on single bike carriers, on TT as well as ADVRider and several other forums. Here are a couple TT ones I kept around, for instance. http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=570671 http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-659937.html But I'm looking for real-life experiences on ones that carry TWO motorcycles. If you have existing links, happy to take 'em.
  5. I'm looking for input on a dual-motorcycle hitch carrier. I've found several online, but want to know which one folks here thinks works well and which one might be better to avoid. Thanks! Eric D

    Anyone figure out W2R yet?

Well, it's not exactly an assertive DS rider's paradise, but (I hear) it's a nice dirt road to toodle down. e.g. legal if you have plates. It's commonly listed as part of the back way (dirt) to Idyllwild. Here's a bird-watcher's perspective. http://www.miriameaglemon.com/San%20Diego%20Bird%20Pages/Sites/Black%20Canyon%20Road.htm A SD DS site's perspective http://www.dualsport-sd.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4929&mode=threaded&pid=47829 Mesa Grande is a nice sportbike route on the way to Palomar for some peg grindage...

    KTM 65 SX vs XC?

Nice. That was my next train of thought. I'm hoping to find the one that sat more than it was run.

    KTM 65 SX vs XC?

Sweet! Now that I have a bike with a kickstand (vs my CR500), I'm kinda hooked. If he races, we'll unbolt in. One hopes that's not hard.

    Anyone figure out W2R yet?

Says I can subscribe to areas to get notified, but it's smarter than I am... I like the idea, and I like the maps, but only seems to be listing tracks and OHV areas near San Diego and not other areas (like Black Canyon). I don't know many, which is why I'm askin'. Just sayin'

    KTM 65 SX vs XC?

KTM's site is pretty useless, and the comparator didn't appear to show any differences - what is the difference between an SX and an XC? Looking to buy a used one, what do we need to look out for? I'm targeting an '03 and up. He'll race novice to start (I'm making this up, long time rider, I've never raced), he's coming off a CRF 50, no races, and is 9. TIA!

    IMS warning!

Knock wood, my current tank has over 2k miles on it. Some of them very enjoyable. Here's my buddy's IMS after being dropped on rocks on both sides. Not more than some scratches in the plastic http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6477295&postcount=82 In the first one, I'm fixing his broken bark-buster, it had fallen on its right side, where you see it, into those rocks. He's out of the pic trying to decide if his ankle was broken (yep). My original leaked, the replacement (appx 1yo and 1800+ miles) seems to be doing great. Just got back from Ocotillo Wells with it 2 weeks ago, about 200 miles of whoops, jumps, and wheelies.

    Broken frame my BMW Xchallenge

I have a Leo Vince (LV) slip-on on my 06 Husky TE610, it has about 4K miles on it and I'm a big fan. I hear they don't need to be repacked, and so far I'd say that's the case.

    TT has been upgraded!!!

No bashing intended, TT is slow to load. And I'm even using Chrome, which is sooooo nice (speed-wise) compared to IE and FFox. Content is great, tho!

    Scott Harden Joins Husqvarna

Dammmm!! He lived 3 houses down from mine up till about 3 years ago. Almost the whole neighborhood is orange, except for my Husky... Think of the hookups I'm missing out on!

    New eyes

Ruffus - Got pics of how you mounted your headlight bracket and what to? Is that the Buell bracket that normally holds the windscreen/headlight on a Buell?
