I am a novice MX rider that enjoys both mild motocross tracks and mild trail riding. I am a 35 yr male weighing a stocky 250# with gear on. I am bottoming out the front forks on little 3-5 ft tabletop jumps. I love the the XR and do not want to trade it in on a CR.
I have been considering re-springing the current XR Forks with .45kg Springs or higher springs. I was thinking to keep it on the softer side to save my aging body, but not so soft that is bottoms. As for Oil weight, I have no idea what I should do there.
Then on the other hand I have been reading about how some have scraped the XR Forks and put on CR Forks. I have read alot about this on this site but was wanting more specifics on it. Does anyone have pics? What Year/Model/Size is the best to steal from. Do I need to get a CR Wheel too? Does anyone have part prints?
Any help would be appreciated from a late blooming MX Rider.
