    The works shock is very nice. Its very plush, but has great bottoming resistance. That big jump is 70 feet to the bottom and the suspension loved it. It took alot of effort to get it to shoot my 200 lbs over it though:ride: 4th gear tapped with the angriest seat bounces Ive ever done, but that almost makes it more fun.

    The whole front end is right off the kx. I had the forks revalved, resprung, and travel shortened 2 inches. It all cost me $325 and they said the shotening would be free with a revalve at $150, but i bought a little lighter springs too. The other goodies include an applied top clamp, pro tapers, fastway braided line, braking oversize front rotor kit, black excell rim, and a bridgestone m77. I also bought the works rear shock. The rear wheel and disc brake will be going on shortly. All I can say is that this bike is an absolute blast to ride now. I run an rmz450 in b class, and I think this thing may be more fun:ride: . It rides like a pillow and handles like a dream. I used the xr 500 stem with a sleeve, and had to sleeve the top tripple clamp too. Every body thats thinking about a suspension swap should do it. Its unbelievable. And abount the fender, I used a big step drill to put some 1 inch holes to give the engine some air. The green fender wont stay, but I had it and it bolts right up. Plus I think it gives it a little B/A factor.
  4. well this whole project started when we switched my wife from her kx100 to an 06 crf230. We mainly ride practice tracks, orv trais, and motocross tracks. I was amazed at how well she took to the bike. she was instantly more comfortable with the whole machine. I did the jetting mods and that was nice. It didnt take long to see that the suspension was laking. I shimed and re-oiled the forks wich was alittle better, but for from good. I had my 99 kx250 sitting with a blown motor and a bazillion dollars worth of race parts. So after seeing what some of the guys on here were doing, I decided to combine the two.     Video of my other backyard track

    Whoever is ridin the red bike looks pretty quick:thumbsup: . That looks really cool on video. The track is really great. I think its just as much fun for someone just getting into it as it is for us semi-pros:busted: . Seriously its come along way and is built correctly. I think Im ready for mine now.
  6. I dont know how frankenstien you want to get, but I think a simple yet totally cool one would be a kdx220 powered kx125. One of the magazines made one back in about 94 I think. It was awesome. I was checking out some of the other posts and would like to comment that the kdx is a super torquer. Itll idle up hills, similar to a crf230. Even the old air cooled jobbies.

    Any pics to post yet. What year front end did you use. Im thinking of going the same route with Kawasaki parts, beacause thats what I have.

  9. Im putting my 04 head back together after new valves and noticed the springs are different. One set has blue paint on top the other has white. It seems like the blue springs look correct on the intake. Any one know? Thanks,Adrian
