    SM610 death wobble crash.

I know this is kind of an old thread, but I wanted to share something I've learned through riding many different types of bikes at a relatively fast pace: Headshake is a normal part of motorcycling. A tank-slapper/death wobble is what happens when the rider grips the bars too tightly, and transfers the shake through his/her body to the back of the bike, causing more headshake (rinse/repeat). I initially read this in A Twist of the Wrist II. I highly suggest *everyone* reads both I and II no matter what they ride because it opens up a world of understanding of bikes in general: Here's a snippet on tankslappers: http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3867378&postcount=1
