    Fair Price?

Thank's everyone. One more quick question, the shop currently has strictly street tires on it. Makes for awesome road riding but I need to hit the dirt with it as well, As part of the deal they will put on whatever tires I chose. I will of coarse have to pay a bit if I go to extreme with my choose. Any recommendations?

    Fair Price?

High all I'm a newbie here looking for help. I'm looking at a 2004 DR 650 with 3800 miles. It looks to be in perfect shape, actually looks like new. It has a FMF Q2 on it and has been jetted. New tires. Asking price is $3450 and he is not real willing to move. Does that price sound fair. I think it is, it might be $100-$300 high but the bike is mint. Any help would be appreciated.

    KLX250S or DRZ

Thanks for the input so far guys. The valves are actually the big concern I have at this time. I don't want to have to deal with them every 3-4 months, but then again as you have said they may not even be an issue. To early to tell. My dealer is willing to let me take a KLX out for a ride, so I should really get down there and try it out. I've ridden a stock DRZ 400 and was impressed and the Modified DRZ Motard I rode was awesome but that was a $6000 bike with about $1600 worth of upgrades. That's a far cry from $4600. I need to ride one, I'm just worried that I'll like it and then 6 months from now have out grown it. Oh well that's what ebay is for. I wish the KLX was a few seasons old so I could find a nice used one before I really commit.

    KLX250S or DRZ

First dirt bike period. Although I have a lot of related experience. I have been snowmobiling for 20+ years and ride very hard. Have several years of ATVing behind me. Snowmobile Pro X 700. (135HP) Past Road Bikes 84 Honda Sabre V45 and 91 Suzuki Katana 750 ATV Sportsman 600 and Raptor 660. I'm 6' and weigh about 180lbs. I want a fun bike to get back and forth to work and also pound on the local trails. I have put about 15 miles on DRZ 400 SM with most of the mods done to it and it was a blast. I know the KLX isn't anything like a 400SM, but then again I'm not expecting it to be. I just want an all a round fun toy. As you can see from list above I do like to ride fairly powerful toys.
  6. I'm looking to buy my first DP type of bike and am wrestling with which to get. I'll be using it for the occasional commute to work 13 miles each way with half country roads half in town. I'll also be trail riding in Wisconsin, so I would say the split will be 60% trail and 40% Road. My concerns with the KLX are everything I hear about Valves and just overall power. I like the cost compared to a DRZ. I don't need a super powerful bike, but I don't want to be bored with it either. I'm also not big into doing a ton of mods. I guess what I'm asking is how fun is the KLX when you get on it and rip through the gears and is the valve thing really an issue?
