  5. This spring I will be rebuilding mr 650 r 2001 I know i need to rebuild the top end because of some compression issues, but since I am already in there I figure I might ad a few extras. Currently it is easy to start and ride, so I want to keep the easy starting aspects of the bike. I was thinking of higher compression pistons 11:1 and a valve job (larger intake) I also have stock exhaust but that will be changing next winter. I am hoping to gain more low to mid range torque with out loosing the top end. Any input would be appreciated. p.s. I also dont race but I do go to the dunes with it and I love the hill climbs.
  6. Its very easy to get to. And its alot of fun. The sand is a little coarser than what you would find on the beach and a little dustier but usually a lot less crowded as well. Their are camping areas that are pretty nice but it is all dry, so bring your own water if you come. It can also get pretty cold durring winter months. Let me know if you need more information. J.
  7. Its about the same distance from sunriver to either north or south entrance. The north side will have more people and more trails to start from, but the south is a great ride as well but much more remote. I prefer the south side up Finley butte rd. but the play areas up north are better for kids. Jason
  8. It's a whole new bike, new front tire new springs and a little more ride time, I might be able to keep up with you soon Jason
  9. Did you want to leave around 8 or be there around 8? If you want to leave I might be able to ride; I work until 7pm in bend that day. but it would sure be fun to go on a night ride. Jason
  10. no it's alot of money and to many other things keep popping up. I am buying my wife a ttr 125 tomorow though. Any thoughts? He's asking $1200.00 and he's throwing in a new tire and tags. It looks good and runs good. I'm thinking not a bad deal for a 2000 j
  11. Headed out to xmas valley dunes on sunday wondering if anyone has a ride report. How was the sand? I'll be riding a xr650r with new rubber wondering if i should pony up and get a paddle before Sunday? Thanks Jason
  12. Sorry man the bike is in the shop getting new seals and being resprung for my weight. I dont think it will be ready until next week. J
  13. Hey Dan The ride portion is no sweat, just some braking and cornering at the same time waws the only thing that took any skill. I would read the book, the questions dont always make alot of sense just tell them what they want to hear. Jason
  14. Hey Brad Waht are the details?
  15. Sorry about the wrist but you rode it home I say you won. Hope to see you on the trail soon. Jason
