  1. I've been riding an '05 since April of '06...so basically for 5 years now. It's time to upgrade...buying new is not an option. My friend is riding an '08 and he loves it. So, I'm thinking of going with an '08 or '09. So for you owners: what are some of the good, bad, and ugly (and beautiful) things about this bike? What differences would I notice from my '05? I know the most obvious difference is the EFI. I have loved my '05 but it's getting up there in hours (265+) and starting to have minor issues. So let's hear it...I want to hear allabout the 2008/2009 RM-Z450s
  2. I, too, have an '05 RM-Z and I did strip the check-hole. I tapped it and put a bigger bolt in there and sealed it up. Now I just drain the old oil very thoroughly and put in 1500 cc's and trust that it's fine until the next oil change. Bike has over 260 hours on it and it's been fine so far...
  3. They are good bikes. I have 265 hours on mine & it's still going strong.

  5. 15 kicks isn't bad if it hasn't been started in a while. Mine took at least that many when I hadn't ridden in a month or more. After that it will start first kick when warm. Or at the most 2 or 3. If I've ran it the day before, for instance, it will usually start within a few kicks even when cold.
  6. Well, thanks for all the help hahahaha, but I think I got it. Just had to use more Suzuki Bond than I thought it would take.
  7. '05 RM-Z450, leaking oil from where the cylinder head cover meets the cylinder head. Got a new gasket, but even after just warming the bike up for a few minutes it's still leaking oil from near the half-circles of the gasket. What's the fix?

  10. Got a new set of Fox gear :-)
  11. I'd have to agree with myoung. I live a half-hour away & I never go there. The track will be beat to hell on a practice day. There are 3 or 4 tracks just as close to me that are a lot more fun to ride. The only reason to go there is just so you can say that you've ridden a (former) "National Track".
  12. Safe to assume it's for an '08??
  13. Sale Pending
  14. Langston, and a bunch of other pros, blew by me at Cahuilla a few years ago.
