  1. well i rode today with the 165 main and it starts easier but i lost some power. my 99 yz125 will keep up with me in a drag even. pulls hard down low but not up high
  2. a coil?? how can i check that??
  3. the reeds are in perfect condition.
  4. my buddy actually already tested the compression after i was done with the top end and he said that it was in spec however he did not tell me the psi. if we rule that out whats next??
  5. but with the bigger jets im fouling plugs every ride. they come out of the cylinder dripping. once i put the 165 in that stopped.
  6. ya i just put the 165 in there and the plug is staying dry now but i dont know if it is too lean. the needle is at position 2 as well. the carb is imaculate inside and the filter is just cleaned. fresh motul 710 at 40:1, new br8 plug and i put the choke on when cold but now when hot. when hot i use the throttle to start it. just doesnt like to start and wears me out a lot. is there an adjustment i can do on the clutch so it will start in gear??
  7. many bikes are hard to start in gear. Just place the trans in neutral. Your jetting sounds dangerously lean. Try cleaning your pilot jet and choke. I assume the air filter is somewhat clean? Gas is fresh (not from last year)? plug is good/new? You are using the choke on and no throttle technique? ya i just put the 165 in there and the plug is staying dry now but i dont know if it is too lean. the needle is at position 2 as well. the carb is imaculate inside and the filter is just cleaned. fresh motul 710 at 40:1, new br8 plug and i put the choke on when cold but now when hot. just doesnt like to start and wears me out a lot. is there an adjustment i can do on the clutch so it will start in gear??
  8. hey guys bought a 250 about 4 weeks ago and love it compared to my old 125. anyways i have done a lot of work and tuning on it but it is still hard to start. about 5 to 10 kicks to get it running, hot or cold. i just put in a new top end, the jetting on the carb is 165 and 45, pro circuit platinum pipe, turbine core 2 silencer. it runs like a champ now and the plugs are staying dry now that i brought the main from 170 to 165. also it wont start if i am in gear. if anyone can help me that would be great. thanks a lot Matt
