Play in push rod, and clutch not engaging.

are you taking about it connecting with the shaft that comes from the clutch cover?

Do you know which way the clutch plates and friction plates should face (sharp edges in or out?) or does it matter as long as there the same?

hmmm, I know there is no ball bearing for this bike. I guess I'll have to take it apart and start form scratch.
  4. Hi guys, So I've put together a 03 yz125 engine after been given it to me in a box of pieces. One problem, once I put together the clutch I noticed the push rod has a ton of play in it, this is after the pressure plate is installed and I grab the part of the push rod that sticks out, it moves quite a bit. I’ve looked at the manual and can not see anything that I did wrong. There is no tension on the clutch leaver when its all together. Any ideas? --Thanks!

    Actuator arm removal?

I hate to bring this up from the dead, but, I have the same problem. (no tension with the clutch) I'm pretty sure my ball bearing is missing, but, the other problem is that when i shift through the gears (with the bike off) there is no tension, and the shifter will just stay up. could this be related to the missing ball bearing? Thanks

    Transmission assembly question.

I will have to try this. So as long at the fork are in the right spot in between the gears they will fall into the right spot on the drum?

    Transmission assembly question.

Slight dilemma, already installed the crank, so I'm going ahead and putting the cases back together. the only question i have is the on of the gears over laps the other... thats not supposed to be like that is it?

    Transmission assembly question.

Forgive me for posting this here, I haven't gotten any hits on the 2 stroke forum. I have a yz 125 I'm rebuilding, and the trans assembly is the same on a 125 as a 250f. (for the most part) Just wondering how do I tell if I put the transmission/shift forks back together right? As far as I can tell from the manual I did it right. But I don't want to put the cases back together only to find out I did it wrong. This service manual is a load of crap. Thanks!

    Still not idling...confused

No, i didnt take it out.
  14. Hey Guys, Awhile back I posted about my bored out 06 yz270 being hard to start and not idling. Well I’ve fixed the not starting issue since with new valve seats and a cylinder rehoned*. I’m at 300+ feet here where I ride in Washington. Now here is my current problem, the bike starts easy, doesn’t idle at all, and pops on decel, with a 45 pilot, 190 main, fuel screw 2 ½ turns out, clip position 3. Compression is 13: 1. I thought I had to go lower on the pilot, not richer when you bore something out. I’ve put a 48 pilot in and it didn’t help at all. I shold also say, it will start much more easliy when idle is all the way in. Any ideas would be much appreciated. --Paul
