  1. With all the controls and switches on the bars there's no room for traditional bar clamp hand guards, due of the transition from 1 1/8 to 7/8" what options are out there

  3. possibly debris collected in the shift ratchet if all other gears are working correctly The right side engine cover and clutch have to be removed to investigate. if its not that, then its something inside the cases and the engine has to come apart as indicated above
  4. I'm thinking one of two possible problems Could be a bad spark plug boot or the cam sprocket mount has spun on the cam shaft which puts the cam lobes out of time even though the the timing marks are correct
  5. Had either of you performed a valve adjustment
  6. There was no mention of what year bike or why it was taken apart Insert other media As already mentioned check the valve timing Check the valve clearances Check the cam sprocket has not spun on the cam
  7. what -1 said Its not uncommon for oem valves to still look new after over 100 hrs of use. Unless of course your not keeping up with air filter maintenance I've found these KTM parts are much more durable than the Jap brands
  8. Not sure if this is your first KTM we found coming from Honda's the KTM's moving parts, like clutchs, cranks, valves pistons, etc all last much longer than the Hondas IN fact the whole bike is much more durable than Honda's
  9. Yamaha clips are much easier to install than OEM KTM clips KTM clips are probably the most difficult clips I've ever installed
  10. OEM KTM wrist pin clips are very difficult to install because of the high rate of tension the tool you are referring to is probably similar to this in the video
  11. they're good but difficult to read accurately. I find using a slide mic easier
  12. We use the same procedure as Orion above and it works perfectly in the coldest weather. He described it exactly as the manual states. If you have a hard time following that Here's an option https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/730/76833/Tusk-KTM-Battery-Upgrade-Kit
  13. I saw the Bux Tool But I think the brace wound interfere with the cylinder studs. Ive seen others that look like a chapstick tube with a simple plunger, just not in the 19mm size that all these 450's use for a pin size
  14. Does anybody have a source for a 19mm wrist pin clip insertion tool? There's plenty out there but not in 19mm that I can find
  15. The OEM KTM oil ring is a challenge to compress to install it in the cylinder. I now use aftermarket Vertex because its a much a much easier job to install, and less chance of error with the oil ring. I have had no problem getting 50+ hours from Vertex pistons with 20-30 min moto's use.
