  1. I have a 2005 WR250F and the other day after freshening up the gas in the tank (2 weeks old) with new gas, I made it about 2 miles from home and while idling down a hill the bike died. I was able to restart and ride home at high RPM's. When I dropped the bowl the gas was yellow on the verge of orange. I pulled the jets and cleaned everything with carb cleaner. I cannot get the bike to idle in the 2000 rpm range without dying. I have hade the carb appart twice now with the same result. Bike runs great at high RPM's. "JD" kit installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
  2. Forgot to mention that I have the "JD" Jet Kit installed.
  3. I have a 2005 WR250F with the Baja Design street kit (love the bike) and the other day after freshening up the gas in the tank (2 weeks old) with new gas, I made it about 2 miles from home and while idling down a hill the bike died. 4. Well, Sold off my KTM 520 and now am riding a 2005 Yamaha WR 250F. I now have a 14 primary, 47 secondary set up. I am looking for a tire set up for "Adventure Rides". Love the WR and want to get of the full knobby's. Need suggestons. Thanks,
  5. I need to replace my battery in my 05 WR250F. It has a YTX4L-BS in it now. The service manual calls for a YTX5L-BS. I bought the bike used and it has a Baja Design Dual Sport Kit and Trail Tech Vector. What is the difference in the batteries? Should I get the YTX5L-BS? Thanks,
  6. Turned my 2005 Yamaha WR250F into a blinker bike for Adventure Riding. Is there a softer seat or seat modification that any can suggest? I know Gut's sells soft / tall seat foam but a wider seat would also help comfort. Thanks,
  7. I am looking to Adventure Ride my 05 WR250F. The stock seat is a killer. Is there a softer / more comfortable seat combination out there? I know Guts makes replacement soft and higher seat kits, but I would like a wider, soft seat. Any sugestions? Thanks,

WR250F How many miles per tank?

Did not see the question on the next page. Anyone with a 2005?
  9. Going to do a Dual Sport Ride next weekend in Hancock New York on my newly purchased 2005 WR250F and am wondering what is the range I can get out of the 2.1 gallon tank. I downsized from a KTM520 EXE and am super pleased with the WR. I had a 1999 WR400 before the KTM and loved the bike except for starting. I may look into a bigger tank but won't be getting it before the ride. Love the bike, hope I will have enough fuel on board. I am also bringing a siphon tube to mooch off my KTM buddies if necessary!
  10. I guess my other thread on sprockets is not working. I found out that stock is 13 / 50. I have a 13 / 52 set up on the bike now. What are you guy's running? 50, 51, or 52? I am into Turkey Runs and Dual Sport rides. Thanks,
  11. What are you guy's running for sprockets? My (new to me as of yesterday) WR250F has 13 / 52. I am screaming at 45 mph. Came off a KTM 520 that was comfortable at 55 to 60. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
  12. Well I am back to Blue! Just picked up a plated 2005 WR250F! I am looking for a manual for the bike. I had a 1999 WR400 but have been riding a KTM for the last 7 years and can't remember all the paticulars of the Yamaha. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron
  13. Any suggestiuons? Both bikes are clean. The 2005 has very low miles and the Husky TE250 is $600.00 more, less than 300 miles on it. I'm going to post on the Husqvarna post also. Thanks,

    Considering KTM 2002 EXC

I have a 2002 520 EXC and have never touched a thing. Change the oil regularly. If it startys easily and runs good, RIDE IT! Great bike, super reliable!
