    Shim size confusion

Hi all, I just put a new piston and rings in my bike, but my exhaust valves are out of spec. I tried using the shim calculator, but it's in MM and I have no idea what it means. Can anyone figure out what shims I will need to purchase, to put my valves back in spec? Current clearances: R EX: .003 L EX: .009. My current shim thickness is: R EX: .089 and L EX: .088. I just want to order the right shims, so I can get out riding again. Any help would be appreciated.

    2002 CRF450 weight

Hello everyone, I am looking at purchasing a nice used 02' crf450 with new top end and valves. I have searched the dry weight of this particular year and have found out it weighs 224lbs. I know the newer Honda 450's , particularly 05 and above weigh about 218lbs. Is this 6lbs more weight on the 02' going to be really noticeable? Also the frames are different. Anyone here own a 2002-2003 that might know? Is there any major differences between the 2002 and 2003 year models? Info would be greatly appreciated.

    Please help me choose!

Buy the WRX and save for a year and then buy the bike and you can have the best of both worlds!

    Internal Engine Carnage,Photos inside!

I bet you he still had the factory oil in there from 05' when he bought it. That oil was BLACK, well what was actually still in it!

    Me riding my TTR

You look much more confident and faster then you did in the first segment of the video! Keep it up!
  9. I bet you could, it would be very hard to control because of the 2-stroke snappyness.

    Exhaust Pipe Scraping Shock spring

It has a FMF header, stock muffler, I'm gonna try to bend it back out. I'll let you know how it goes.
  15. Today I was out riding on my local track and while I was resting, I leaned on my bike and heard a scraping noise coming from the shock area. I looked down and there is my exhaust rubbing against my shock spring. How would the best way to fix this be? Should I try to bend it at the end of header(where its rubbing badly). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    help heating problem

It's the nature of these bikes, they run very hot, unlike their old air cooled brothers. 10sec of the bike running the pipe is very hot already, funny indeed but its totally normal.

Might have a CR in the stable?

00-01's have insane power, I recently talked to my neighbor who owned a 1987 KX250 and a 1987KX500, now he has a 01' CR250, he says the 250 is faster then the 500, it just hits so hard and has tons of low end and power everywhere. If you want the best 250 2-stroke motor, get the Honda, preferably 00-01' model year.

    Replacing Front Brake Lever

Yes, like stated above its just a bolt, but to prevent this next time, what I like to do is keep your lever clamps loose enough so that when you crash they can slide on the bars. You should be able to hit the top of your master cylinder/clutch lever and it should move on the bars.
  23. This bend relieves lower back pressure:p

    Leo Vince full system issues...Help

Yea I see that too, I don't think it should rub that even if the sub frame is perfect. Maybe he has a tire too wide for the bike?
