After losing the front on a turn I managed to fold over the right rad on my 2017 YZ250FX. I tried to unmash it but it was done. I decided to get a set of the Meyers Rads and BPD rad guards. Fit on the left side was fairly easy. The right was a struggle but I managed. I did have to trim the inside of the lower shroud in order for it to bolt up to the guard. First impression in both pieces of kit was super cool. I felt somewhat saturated until I took the scoot for a ride. On an uphill climb while chugging along I lost my balance and decided to gracefully dismount and literally lay the bike down. After I picked the scoot up I inspected it. To my surprise the right side rad bent in a little. The guard doesn’t really protect from direct side impacts at the lower shroud. I wonder what would have happened if I really dumped the bike. At least I known that I can bend the rad back into shape.

BPD rad guard good for frontal roost attack not so super good for the side impacts of a little tip over.

They’re like the name says, Bullet proof. Along with that, hard crash proof with your radiators coming out straight and protected. Also the Company is true to their warranty with great customer service.

I really like the BulletProof Radiator Guards. They are strong and I haven't had trouble with debris collecting under them like I did with the stock guard. I will give the stock guard a plug though. On the 2017 ktm 300 xc the stock guards are pretty strong and give a fair amount of side impact protection. If I had seen how good the stock guards are before I ordered the BulletProof guards I wouldn't have bought them. Now that I have them though, no regrets. I really like the fact that I don't have to clean out all the little sticks that collected under the stalk ones.
