I am in my mid 40's and around 225 lbs at 6 feet tall. I grew up riding dirt bikes and have owned too many to count. I have not ridden in many years as I now use a SxS. I missed the dirt bike scene and bought this bike recently. For the price and features seemed like a bargain. It is perfect for somebody like me. It pulls me around just fine, plenty of power to get me up the hills. Not the fasted bike out there but it is very mellow and easy to ride. A near perfect trail bike in my opinion. I plan on leaving the bike bone stock.

I've been riding on the street for about 25 years. When I was younger, I rode a bit on the dirt but haven't been back to it since. I recently picked up an XR50 for my daughter, and set off to find something for myself. After a ton of research, the CRF250F seemed like the perfect fit - especially given the price point.

Since I won't be riding every week, the prospect of low maintenance combined with the Fuel Injection was right up my alley, along with having disk breaks front and rear and electric start.

I only have a few hours on mine - so far, I'm loving it. I'm 6'1" and about 215. It hauls me around well enough, but it could use a bit more travel front and back - I am sure options will become available with time. I have been able to keep up with friends riding bigger machines with better suspension. It's probably not going to make a great enduro bike, but it's perfect for trails, fire roads, and single track if you aren't a super aggressive rider. It fires right up, and I haven't felt a lag in the FI.

Future state, I'd like to see some suspension options, FI mapping options (looks Like DynoJet has one), and I'm in the process of putting on some risers and slightly taller bars to make standing up in the saddle a bit more comfortable

just rode this for the first time on the trails.sold my 2000 XR250 to get this bike with the new technology.i am very happy so far.i thought the ground clearance and lower suspension would be more of a problem than it was but for me it worked. The fuel injection and electric start was a HUGE plus for me.I am anxious to get back on it again.

Just to have everything straight before you read, remember that this is an air-cooled 4 stroke that is designed to be friendly, and forgiving. For what this bike is and more importantly what it costs, it is quite the package. It is simply designed to be a no maintenance machine that is easy to learn on. Will this bike win any MX/enduro races? No. Will it throw you off the back or do power wheelies? No. Will it ride trails and chug around like a tank until it dies? Yes. This is the kind of bike that I would have someone learn how to ride on. It has very smooth power and a forgiving clutch. One huge positive I can give this bike is its lugging power. This bike can LUG, and it can lug like a 2 stoke. For a first time trail machine, or a very relaxed playbike, I love this tiny tank.
