The 79 Honda XR185 has no battery. All loads are 6volt. So the taillight naturally only has two wires which run to ground and the lighting switch. How could you wire in a brake light switch using 3 wires (ground, brake, tail) into the 2 wires?

Hello everyone, I'm trying to determine the exact model of my 1979 XT500 with frame and engine number 1E6-221168. Is it an XT500F? United States (not sure if that makes any difference). Any insight appreciated. Thanks, Mark

What’s up everyone? First hour on the forum and love the information and Insight you all bring. I just recently purchased my first dirt bike, it’s a 1979 KX250 2 stroke. I got it from my wife’s dad who’s kept in his friends garage for at least the last 4 years, and it sat in his garage before that for many more years. I’m hearing a lot of good things about this bike and just wanted to post some general info about it along with some ideas on what I should do with it. Above all my intent is to have fun with it. It seems to be in decent shape but I’m not exactly anywhere experienced when it comes to dirt bikes specifically. I’ll post some pictures of it as well and more when I get it into the shop in the morning.

Hey there, I recently bought a 1979 Suzuki PE250 in pretty good condition for its age I'd say. However the fork seals are leaking and after struggling for a few days to get the fork caps open(they were seized) I have now come to a new problem. The Dust seal Holder seems to be stuck, in the shop manual it mentions some sort of special tool for removing the fork seal but I'm not sure what exactly it would do.The thing seems like it should just unscrew. I've tried whacking it with a screw driver and a hammer and I had some minor progress but its painfully slow so I was wondering if any of you vintage motorcycle wizards would be able to enlighten me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.👍

Hey guys, so I have a 79 xr250 with a pumper carb that someone who had the bike before me put on. It looks like it was pretty new so I was thinking maybe it's an Ebay carb, anyway it seems the bike is running rich and I want to rejet what I am wondering is do I use oe style jets or what, any jetting info will help since I am not really experienced in rejetting.
