    Alabama BHM bound

Hey guys, headed to BHM with big brown frieght company. Will be looking for some old school core single track trail riding. Coming down from WA, CA (originally from TX), and do I have some stories, pics of epic WA riding. Seen some sights that most have only seen on posters or postcards. Also, am currently looking for a room rental situation(need garage space, as I have 2 bikes). Was hesitant to post this up, but thought what the heck..... never know. So, if anyone knows of a good possibility, PM me. I'm used to paying upwards $650/mo.... But it's gotta be a nice, clean, good environment. Thx!
  3. Traveling to Cullman, AL soon for a wedding and looking for something to do on a Saturday morning. Does anyone know of any bike shops, tracks, gun shops or firing ranges in the area? Need to find a way to kill some time since I don't golf or care to follow the wife for her hair and nail makeover.
  4. I have been in B'ham (Hoover) for several years, but have not tried out any of the nearby trails. I would like to try out Minooka, The Ridge, Kentuck or Perry Mountain if anyone is interested. My Dad and I took our bikes to Durhamtown last year and had a great time, but due to health reasons he does not ride anymore. The only friends I have that do ride only ride street bikes. So, I am looking for a riding buddy/buddies for off-road trail riding on the weekends. Some personal stats are : - I ride an XR400R - 47 years old - Live in Hoover - Would consider myself a fairly aggressive rider. (maybe a 7 on a scale from 1-10) However, I will ride with anyone, agressive or unagressive. Just don't want to ride alone-for safety purposes mainly. - Am self-employed, so could possibly do a weekday ride from time to time If anyone is interested, let me know and we can hit the trails. 5. Looking for some fellow riders in North Alabama to ride with and some good places.
  6. RidgeFest 2013 is the Region’s Hottest New ATV Event. On May 10th and 11th, get Revved up for a weekend at The Ridge in Springville, Alabama complete with ATV and Dirt Bike riding, a poker run, Geocaching, camping, hiking, fishing and great live music from Tony Brook Band and Glen Templeton. The Ridge has over 35 mile of trails and of course the ”Hog Heaven” mud bog area. Don’t bother dusting off that ATV, because you will kick up plenty of dust at RidgeFest 2013. This is the ATV event that you cannot afford to miss. Tickets are only $50 per person and $10 for a pull behind camper or RV (very limited/no hookups). Primitive Camping is Free. Don’t Miss Out on this Awesome New Event. Click Here for Tickets and More Info.
  7. Anyone have any info on this track?
  8. Hey everyone. I am taking a work trip to the Birmingham area (Jasper) during the week of March 4 and I was wondering if any tracks would be open during that week in the later afternoon and if anyone rents moto bikes down there? I know it is kind of a long shot, but I would rather ride than go fishing at Walker Lake. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Joel
  9. I just moved to Troy Alabama from Florida and am looking for some trails to ride. Are there any clubs in the area with leases to ride? There seems to be a ton of land everywhere but I have not found anything yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  13. I live in Boaz and I'm looking for some good free trails to ride within a 30 min drive. Also in 95 I lived in Helena at the end of Coalmont Rd, AKA Valleydale. There were some pipeline trails and someone told me they made a 30 mile loop. Does anyone know if I can still ride there? Thanks for any help.

  16. I'm moving to mobile for a new job, and will have a 1 hour daily commute one way. Wanting to save some money on gas I am considering a street bike. I'm just looking for insurance laws, and general information about operating a motorcycle on Alabama roads. Any links or help would be great. Thanks.
  17. I'm making a list of all states that will plate a dirt bike either straight doing it or requireing a inspection, Washington has changed its policies and the only way to change it, is through our legislature, so I'm compling a list of states that will do it, to turn into my representative. Thanks So now I'm up to Arizona Utah Idaho Colorado Missouri Michigan Pennsylvania Texas Louisiana New Mexico Montana Oklahoma? Virginia New Hampshire Maine Vermont ETA, Keep em coming, each state that does shows how Washington is full of shit with their reason, ie FMVSS and Emissions
  18. Right now I live down in Florida. I know that Florida and California are pretty big on motocross? I'm thinking of going to college in Alabama but not if I can't ride good tracks. Can anyone tell me how involved or big the industry is up there? Are the tracks really groomed? For reference, down in Florida we have places like Dade City, Thundercross, etc. Practices can be broken up by bike size, medics on site, stuff like that. There's really good dirt.. So what's Alabama riding like?
  19. The Cahaba WMA is 27,000 acres located in central Alabama. It has always been off limits to ORV and motorcycle use. Recently the property was leased by the Forever Wild Land Trust. This program manages thousands of acres for wildlife management and recreational activaties. The Forever Wild Land Trust now has accumulated 205,372 acres for habitat protection and public recreation since the program began in 1992. These lands, which are all open to public use, can be used for hunting, wildlife watching, hiking, kayaking, canoeing and many other outdoors endeavors. How do we get ORV use added to the many uses of this property? http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/20091030/NEWS/910299938/1007?Title=Lease-protects-61-000-acres http://blog.al.com/outdoors-alabama/2009/11/bolton_forever_wild_deal_guara.html http://blog.al.com/birmingham-news-stories/2009/10/post_43.html
