  1. So ive just bought a pair of TCX Pro 2.1 boots and all are fine with the boots etc the only issue i have now is shifting. i have tried to adjust my shift lever around but whatever i do it will not allow me to shift into 3rd or higher so is there a way i can sort this out by using a longer shift lever or something? if so which would you recommend? my bikes a 100% converted E to SM if that makes any difference. All help is appreciated (merry christmas too)
  2. I've been holding off on buying these boots for a while now mainly because of the $550 price tag. I have some friends that have had them for a while and they highly recommended them. So needless to say I've been wanting to try them out. I got a set off of BTO and the price was listed at $350. When I purchased them I got an instant rebate on them for $30 bringing the total price shipped to $320. Pretty good deal IMO. Just thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone has been looking for a deal on these.
  3. I broke the fibula in my left leg on Saturday-Nov 8th.2014. I was riding Small track, which I've done a lot of, I understand from the surgeon that did the surgery, that this is one of the most common breaks on motor cycle riders. I have heard the SIDI Crossfire 11 SR would have given me a lot more protection? I'm not rich but this break has cost me alot of time and money. I need some advise. what is the best, most protective boot? attachment=199070:image.jpg]
  4. I'm sure I can't be the only rider with wide feet...bought a pair of Thor blitz ATV boots BC I like trails and such but holy crap they are tight granted,I've only had them for about a week and wore them about 3 times trying to break them in...the heel is the worst part...but I keep seeing on here a lot of people use gaernes or something..some say they're narrow also..one of my friends mentioned um...formas? Said very comfortable,durable...any input on any?
  5. I'm recently back to riding a dirt bike after 4-5 years taking care of 2 babies. My gear was 7-8 years old when I sold my stuff, so that would make it 12-13 years old now. I decided to buy everything new, so I went with the knee brace, boots, chest protector, elbows, neck brace, helmet, kidney belt.... Everything is a lot more intrusive than what I used to have. I feel completely disconnected from the bike and limited in my movements. It's hard to flex my ankles to shift or brake, as the entire legs feel like it's made of concrete. For the guys that ride with their full gear, did it take time to get used to it? I'll post a video where my ribs and left knee take a beating after a fall. My rear wheel hits the second bump when I was in the air which put me off balance. This is the kind of stuff that never bothered me, easy to recover, but I couldn't with the gear on. Maybe I'll try to ditch the elbows and shoulder part of the chest protector and look for small knee protectors...
  6. I am stuck between which pair of boots i should get. I can get them both at about the same price so that's not the issue. I have tried on a used pair of gaerne G react and i was unimpressed as i could move my foot a lot side to side inside of the boot. Also i tried on a new pair of sg-12s and i was amazed it was the most comfortable boot i ever tried on. As for the alpinestars i have never been able to try them on. i have heard alpinestars are a bit skinnier in the foot and that gaerne are a bit wider. Anyone who has these boots any feedback would be appreciated.
  7. So im looking into getting some new riding boots but im not sure which ones to get i mostly ride woods i hear alot of good about the gaerne sg-10 and i was wondering how boot sizes vary from normal sizes
  8. Shopping around online for Christmas and noticed my old tec3's were getting old and worn out time for new boots! I loved my tec3's and they lasted several years with no problems at all! I would get another pair but not to sure about what upgrades they made over the past several years or if its worth looking at another brand. SixSixOne comp boots are around $200 and look nice, the problem is I have had issues in the past with sixsixone and not to sure if I want to go down that route again. Their helmet quality isn't the best so I cant imagine how good their boots are. Also, the Fox comp5 look really sharp and I know they fox makes a good quality product. Any other brands out their that fit well work well for around $200?
  9. So, let's say money is no object, cause honestly it's not, and I'm in the market for new boots. Here's what i'm looking for. 1) Waterproof 2) Fairly soft 3) Also fairly durable 4) Comfortable enough for a whole day of walking around and riding. 5) Doesn't look like shit would help. I'm an offroad (more woodsy stuff) rider if that makes any difference. Now, of course, if you have a boot that'll match these requirements for a smaller price that stuff like Fox instincts or sidi crossfire srs (550 and 575 $$$$) I'd be glad to spend less money on boots, and more money on my bike, or girls, whatever.... Thanks! (Do not say Fox Comp 5's or Tech 3's, I own Comp 5's, terrible, and Tech 3's aren't far behind)
  10. Few weeks back I bought a pair of SG12's 1st impression was they were the most comfy boots I have ever worn. Almost like walking around in sneakers. I was alittle nervous about how much range of motion I had at the ankle but dismissed the thought thinking this is a top of the line boot they will protect me. 1st time I ever rode with them I over shot a 60ft double by 15ft landing to flat and snap tib fib pilon fracture. 10wks non weight bearing 2 plates 15 screws. What I believe happened is my foot was improperly placed on the peg at landing it was to far back and i did a toe knee scorpion. I bottomed the hell out of my suspension but managed to not go down I don't think I should have gotten hurt at all in this case I have landed much harder in the past and been ok. Hell I have cased things way harder. So my question is do the SG12's have so much focus on comfort that they are less protective? Or is it just all in my head? You guys will freak when I say this but I do believe if I were wearing my beat to crap stiff as heck Thors I would have been ok of course there is really no way to prove this.
  11. I need to replace the lousy Oneal MX boots I'm wearing now. I was looking at the Alpinestars Tech 3 and noticed that they now have a Tech 3 All Terrain model. The sole looks different and has a steel front plate. Has anybody gotten the newer ones or have any type of info on them? Thanks
  12. I'm on a budget and need new boots....of the follwing, which would be the best choice.....all are about 90-$130 new on ebay MSR Oneal Element Fly Maverik Thor Blitz Answer Racing Fazer Marshall Solo II Axo Racing Drone
  13. It was a simple fall in a muddy turn. My right ankle was stuck under the bike as it tipped over. My upper body motion caused my right knee to twist, snapping my tib and fib. The bike didn't even stall! It was a crash that doesn't even qualify as a crash to me! I'm wondering if these snug fitting boots are partially to blame. I just don't want to go through this again. Gaerne's don't have booties and are very snug. These boots have been awesome for 2 years' worth of racing but I'm a little paranoid when a simple tip over puts me on crutches for months! Thanks, Eric
  14. So I'm newer into dual sport riding and I'm looking for gear to get for my bike. I have a 2011 DR-Z400 and I'm in Colorado with weather that's very variable. I'd like any info on some gear that is cheap, warm and cool depending on weather, and good for commuting as well as off roading. Some things I'm debating are like leather or textile jackets, mx or street boots and good dual sport helmets. Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
