  1. Received this via email... but I can neither confirm nor deny it's validity. Anyone have any additional info on this or seen any signs of malicious activity? Ride aware!
  2. Hey guys, Me and a buddy are headed to Taylor Park the first week of September to do some trail riding all that week. We're staying at the cabins there at the reservoir. Wanted to see if anyone else would be there that either wants to tag along with us or would let us tag along with you. My buddy has been going up there with a big group from Oklahoma for a long time but hasn't been in years and I have never been to this area of the Gunnison National Forest. Also, if none of you guys will be in the area, send along any recommendations for trails that we should hit or any we should stay away from. Thanks ahead of time! Jonathan
  3. I know we have so far had a dismal amount of snow overall in the city. Up my way by the Berthoud track we have around 6". Does anyone know what the trails are looking like down Rampart way? I just have my Raptor all dialed in and I want to play. Planning ahead here since it will be next Sunday when we head down. I will be asking later in the week as well and I will have my son call up to his mother, who lives up there and ask, so I will even post what I find out on that perspective.
  4. Hey im newish to tge 4 corners area and need people to ride with. I dual spirt and trailride. Im in durango but dont mubd drivibg a bit to ride
  5. Just a heads up for our fellow Colorado folks: A story came out of Colorado Springs yesterday about Gov. Polis doubling wildlife and OHV fines in order to further fund CPW and discourage illegal activities. I know some of us were just discussing some of this in the Utah OHV reciprocity thread. Here's a link to the story: https://koaa.com/news/covering-colorado/2019/06/04/gov-polis-signs-law-to-increase-fines-for-wildlife-violations/
  6. How would you set up a DRZ400s for Colorado? I'm considering buying a DRZ but I'm worried that I won't be able to ride around town at 5000 feet elevation if my bike is set up for 8-12 thousand foot mountains. Is there a way around this? In other words, how would you jet a DRZ for 5,000-13,000 feet?
  7. Had two left over after not needing the "extra" bike or the UTV on this year's trip. PM me for details. They expire March 31st of 2017.
  8. The Teller County Board of Commissioners has been working on a project to designate select segments of county roads as OHV routes and make those roads open to unlicensed OHVs which includes motorcycles. These are valuable connector routes which are described on pages 1-2 of the document in the link and you can kinda see them on the map on page 5. The comment period was recently extended to accommodate an anti-OHV contingent to solicit additional input. If you have not already done so, all OHV riders who favor legalizing these roads should promptly email your support for Ordinance #19 to ShawB@co.teller.co.us. or mail to Teller County Public Works, PO Box 805, Divide, CO 80814 ORDINANCE NO. 19 - AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE USE AND REGULATION OF OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLES ON SPECIFIC SECTIONS OF COUNTY ROADS IN TELLER COUNTY FOR TRAIL CONNECTIVITY (http://www.co.teller.co.us/PublicWorks/Transportation/Ord 19 OHV Cnty Rds 10-13-16.pdf ) Let’s not allow a last minute effort by an anti-OHV group derail this worthy effort! Thanks!
  9. I wanted to update you on the status of the Rico West Dolores Roads and Trails Project. A draft decision was expected in January, but the public comment period revealed the Forest Service did not specifically state in the plan that a decision will also be made on the minimum road system for the Rico West Dolores project area. Because of the omission, the Dolores District will issue a Supplement to the Draft Environmental Impact Statement in January with the missing information, and initiate another 45-day public comment period. The minimum road system standard is described as the fewest number of roads needed to manage the forest for all the different purposes. The minimum road system decision is a requirement of the Travel Management Rule. Decisions on the minimum road system will be made when the scope and scale of the particular project lend to making a decision on this component of the Rule. The Rico West Dolores project meets this criteria. The Supplement will explain that once an alternative is selected, that will then become the minimum road system for the Rico West Dolores area. This procedural error does not require any change to the five alternatives described in the first Draft EIS. Even though the five alternatives do not change, I have directed the interdisciplinary team to take this opportunity to improve the analysis of environmental and social effects. Unless you have comments specific to the minimum road system, a re-submittal of your original comments is not necessary. Look for media information, and another email, identifying when the Supplement to the Draft EIS will be released in January. Thank you for your continued participation in this project. Derek Padilla Dolores District Ranger Dolores Public Lands Office, 29211 Hwy 184, Dolores, CO 81323, (970) 882-7296

  11. Who is in the Fort Collins area or close?
  12. I have an interview Thurs in Aurora. If all goes well I will need to move to the area. Looking for areas to NOT move into or around. Coming from Buena Vista will be a culture shock for a minute so needing to avoid more hassles by avoiding the areas where drama is an issue
  13. I see there is a National Vintage MX at Valley Dirt Riders, Berthoud, CO May 17 & 18. I'd heard that there might be a 1 hour hare scramble on the 17th. Does anyone have more details about the race start time?
  14. Me and two others are planning a "fun ride" to check out some new trails. All are welcome. I'm a relative beginner while others are a bit faster but you are all welcome to come and play. Would love to meet you all and keep building my "let's ride list". If we get a few more maybe a beer and hotdog after. Open to suggestions. Meeting at noon. Directions to follow if anyone's interested. Be safe out there.
  15. Recently finished my initial phone interview with prospective employer in Fort Morgan. Curious about available riiding around that area. Also, housing and overall quality of life? Mainly riding, though.
  16. I am throwing this out here to see if any interest . As soon as snow melts I would like to get a group together to do the Tin Cup to St. Elmo ride and if time permits the other trails around there as well. I do it on an ATV every summer with my kids but would like to get a group of 2 wheelers together. If it turns into a group weekend camping trip that would be cool as well. If you have not been there its a beautiful ride and has active fishing in mirror lake the family.
  17. Looking to get a new to me trail bike. Mostly a street guy, but have had a few dirtbikes. I have narrowed to my search to around 450cc bikes. My riding will be done in Moab and up to elevations of 13,000ft. I also would like the ability to title, but 90% of my riding will be off road. I like the honda CRF450X, KTM, and Husaberg. Anyone have any advice or suggestions? Also considering getting a CRF450R and getting it titled. Anyone with experience doing that? EFI, how much is it worth? Read a bunch of reviews, but would like some advice from riders in Colorado. Thanks!
  18. Divide or Woodland Park folks, can anyone give a snow report for the 717 trail system? Need to dust off the cobwebs a little.
  19. So, never been down there and I need to get out and ride. I would like to go there w/ someone who know's wtf as opposed to just riding around trying to figure it out. Can do it, just would rather not this time. Anyone game???
  20. I have never been down to this area, mostly ride Northern Colorado. Going to be hooking up with the wife's family down in this area. We will be taking 285, turning off on FS 431 and going to Buffalo peaks trail head. Can anyone give me an idea of how the riding conditions are in this area? What type of trails are right here? I see on the map that 4-mile is just on the other side of the pass, so i am assuming its all good fun terrain, just curious on it. I am sure it isn't as busy as foothills areas like Rampart, which I rarely go to anymore due to the mass of people who use it as a playground. Thanks for any input.
  21. my friends and I always do a camping/riding trip for labor day weekend. we all live in Colorado springs. we've done rainbow falls, north divide (717 trails), and tarryall reservoir. we like trails that have similarities to a motocross/supercross track. whoops, jumps, burms etc. wide enough to pass and have a friendly competition race so to speak. not into rocky slow technical trails. we also bring kids that ride so some trails need to be 9 year old friendly. if anyone has recommendations of trails that fit these descriptions, id appreciate any info, links, videos. we were thinking of taylor park this year but have never been there. don't mind the drive if we can find info on the kinda riding we like. thanks again for any info.
  22. I wasn't impressed when a friend showed me one spot a couple months ago in this area. I don't have a choice and must go there this weekend. I like smooth trails...I hate rocks. Sand, mud, hill climbs, tight trees, ruts...I love all this type of riding.
  23. Some bikes went over Hayden Pass today and after that I found tools strewn along the road on the west side. Like somebody left their fender bag open. Done that a couple times myself. One tool is something probably specific to euro bikes. If you can identify what you lost, I'll return them.
