Overall it's a nice bike, lots of power for me...
2. I need a crank for my 2000 kx 250 gently used possibly ????
3. So, I got my crank in a few days ago and while inspecting the crank I noticed that the craftsmanship seems really poor. I will let the photos speak for themselves. Debating on whether or not I should return it and get it replaced? Or am I just being anal? I don't know...
4. Hi everyone, Recently I purchased a 2006 Honda crf 450 in mint condition with only a handful of hours on it. while riding a few weekends ago, I noticed it wasn’t shifting into second gear that well. Thinking nothing of it (just figured a shift for was mis-adjusted or bent) I kept riding. The next day nothing changed, still wouldn’t go into second every time. While riding that day, I heard a little "ting" in the motor so pulled off to the side of the track to assess the situation. To my dismay, I found I had blown the case apart at the output shaft of the tranny. The next weekend I ripped the bike apart and found that a little piece in the kick-start retaining unit broke off, lodged between my second gear shift lever for a short time before being passed through the tranny multiple times, ultimately cracking the case. So now my problem arises. In order to ship the left hand case to Canada I need a American bike vin number and name so they can restamp the case and ship it to me. I would order it here but it is on backorder till the end of July, and I need to roost some dirt ASAP!! Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Attached are some pics of the damage
5. 2006 crf450r - time for a rebuild... What's the general consensus on aftermarket bottom / top end rebuild kits? Is there a brand that is preferred for this make or model? Any real world experience (good or bad) would be welcome. I know the crank bearings are probably on their way out due to shavings in the oil after changing it. I am planning on doing the top end while it's apart, since it has never been done according to the previous owner. I am leaning towards a hot rods or wiseco top/bottom end kit only because so far that's what I have found available as a complete rebuild kit. I have had good luck with wiseco pistons in past 2-strokes, and have also heard good things about hot rods crank kits. Bike is mainly trail ridden not raced, so reliability and longevity would be priorities. What say the community...?
6. I purchased my first bike, a 2002 yz125, I bring it home ride it for awhile and then it just starts pissing coolant and gas everywhere, literally no compression, my friend comes over and tells me I'm gonna need a full rebuild he names a bunch of stuff wrong with it cracked case and a bunch of other stuff, I'm sick to my stomach about this bike, can someone please tell me how much this will cost to fix

Still trying to figure this bike out. I raced one when I was 17, back in the day !!! Love the classic looks.

I've raced the bike x 2 in 2015, and found a number of problems, so I've actually completely rebuilt the engine, and replaced the carb with a Mikuni. Seems to run really nicely now. Looking forward to the 2016 season !!

ACT releases wide ratio gear set for the DRZ 400 and KLX 400. From the makers of race proven automotive clutches and flywheels, ACT brings you wide ratio gear sets for the Suzuki DRZ-400 and Kawasaki KLX 400. Although the DRZ-400 is a very versatile machine, the stock gearing does not allow riders to take full advantage of the bike's potential. The stock gearing on the DRZ-400 may work well on trail only use or for city driving, but is far too closely spaced to be practical for dual-sport or highway use. With the abundance of power adders available for these bikes, the close gearing becomes even more apparent. The addition of an ACT Wide Ratio Gear Set will dramatically improve the rider experience and wear and tear on the motor at the same time. ACT Wide Ratio Gear Sets are engineered and manufactured to exact specifications to allow for direct replacement of the factory gears onto the shafts. Modifications are required to two shift forks and the case for proper clearance of the larger fifth gear.

Virtually eliminate missed shifts and false neutrals. Quicker shifts. The 690 has lazy shift action. Not what you want when Super Motard racing or jumping those doubles or splitting that lane. Factory Pro's opinion is that if you nudge the bike out of one gear, it ought to go into the next gear. The stock shifting, on the KTM 690, can be sketchy under even recreational use. Some individual bikes, more than others, have a propensity for false neutrals and missed shifts in critical situations. Changing the oil can make, maybe a 10% difference and perhaps moving the lever up or down can make a 10% difference - and this shift kit is a stunning 100% difference. In other words, use any old oil and have your lever set almost anywhere realistic and it will still shift well. Virtually eliminate missed shifts and false neutrals. Installation: About 1-2 hours - no case splitting required. The clutch basket doesn't even have to be removed. Available with Steel, 7 ball or 20 ball Hybrid Ceramic Microbearing

Owners have the choice between Hot Rods Heavy Duty OE replacement crankshafts or Hot Rods Heavy Duty Stroker Crankshafts Kits feature everything needed to complete crankshaft installation including Hot Rods main bearings and seals kit plus a complete engine gasket set that includes all gaskets and seals for complete engine rebuild Stroker Kits crankshaft assemblies add to the length as listed depending on application; in some cases cylinder head must be modified (as noted)

13. hey guys well I ended up ordering a wiseco top & bottom end kit. I always thought Wiseco made quality stuff. I always review stuff I buy, for some stupid reason I didnt with this. I just assumed Wiseco was good. looking at motosport.com, ebay, rockymountain all reviews were good. only on the forums is where they seem to get bashed. I havent installed it yet, a friend of mine who has been doing engine rebuilds for years, and does 2 stroke & 4 stroke motorcycle repairs for a living has always recommended them, and stands behind his work. After doing more research the reviews are mixed. I am having second thoughts and am wondering if I should return it. My bike runs great. its a 2004 with stock piston and crank, only the rings have been replaced, according to previous owner. so what should I do? here is where I bought it from http://www.ebay.com/itm/130864290234?item=130864290234&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:L:OU:CA:3160&vxp=mtr
14. Anyone have any input on the Hot Rods Crank kit. Should I go OEM or is the Hot Rods a viable alternative?
15. i have a 2007 yz125 that i noticed has a little drip of oil coming from where the drain bolt is so i went to change the oil to see if it was the washer but i soon realized that my case is cracked, so i sent it to someone who used a JB weld (not sure what that is) and the dripping of oil stoppped but i realized about a week ago that the oil is coming out more, can anyone tell me what to do or how i can fix this.
16. Hi, i recently rebuilt my CRF 250r it has a plus 2mm stroker crank a 280cc cylinder works cylinder vertex piston, hot cams stage 2, pro circuit titanium valves. pc valve springs a new cam chain. when i got the bike it was completely stock and it started on the first kick. now after being rebuilt it takes 10-15 kicks to start. but once its warm it runs fine idles great and you can shut it off and start it back up with 1-3 kicks. also it kicks over very hard regardless and has lots of compression.. is this normal ? also the gas is old and sat in the tank for about a month.
