  1. Hey there guys/gals, Im hoping a kind soul can help a girl out! I'm looking to make my first "big girl" purchase on a dirt bike, so I want a dirt bike that will stay with me a long time. I'm 5'4", 125lbs. I just sold my old XR80 I've had since I was a kid. I ride mostly out on my family's ranch (160 acres of hilly land, some woods) and trails. I occasionally make a trip out to this desert ATV/Dirt bike park that has loose dirt and sand, some mud pits, the like… I love speed, and I love get-up-and-go out of turns, so a powerful bike would be ideal, but nothing insane for my size What would y'all recommend? I've been looking at the 150F and the 230F but I'm hesitant, and I don't want to limit my options to just Honda.

Needs work done to it still, but it runs and it's a very good trail bike for just slowly romping in the woods!

Got it used, was traded in for a bigger bike by a growing teenager. It seems comfortable and should provide a great learning platform for my Girlfriend, or any other new riders. Nice seat and pliable suspension mean more riding time for those with less inclination to stand aggressively.

  12. Just trying to get an accurate count, and hoping we can exchange numbers and whatnot. I know fifthwheel and I will be there, and I have his number. Wanna make sure we all find/meet/ride with each other. Can't wait, been a long time since I've ridden with a big group!! If nothing else, I plan on being there around 10-ish Central time. I'll be in a black Dakota with a trailer-probably bringing my CRF450 and sissyboy CRF150F.

This is the wife's bike. So far, so good. The front forks flex like crazy and do NOT cut it for my 200lb rugby playing frame. It is definitely for smaller/lighter people in stock form.
  14. Hello, I am a 15 year old teen 5'4 150lbs. I have been considering buying a dirt bike and am wondering what to get. I have narrowed it down to Honda CRF 150f, CRF 230f, TTR 125l, or TTR 230. I have never ridden a dirt bike and have limited experience with clutches on 4 wheelers. I am wondering uf the 230's will be too tall and if I get a 150 or 125 will I run out of power and get bored? I want to keep it below $2,000 as I will be paying for it and just bought a new truck. I will mostly ride timber trails/open fields. Any suggestions as to other bikes are welcome!
  15. So my son is ready for his next bike. He's now on a TTR 125 and keeps talking about wanting the next bike. He also rides his brothers CRF150F witch actually fits him better since he's very tall for 12 at about 5'8". Don't know his weight but he's a tall drink of water thin! He says the 150F feels very close to his 125 and is bored with both. I also feel he is ready for the next bike or I would not be considering it yet. I think its time for him to get in a real MX bike now since we ride pretty much all MX. I'm thinking CRF 150R or an 85 2 stroke. He's a novice level 12 year old rider, pretty conservative, not a big risk taker and rides at his own level. He rides the pit bike track & beginner tracks at out local track Milestone MX. He thinks he wants a 2 stroke but has never ridden one. I lean to 150R. Anybody willing to let a kid try out either one or both of these bikes at Milestone? Any input?

working on upgrades... soft suspension.. but tons of grunt for a trail bike... will update with all the work being done.
  22. So I recently joined the forums and found the thumpette side and I am so glad! Just bought my first dirt bike this past weekend. I decided on a crf150f to start out. I know with my height and weight I could've gone bigger but I know the power is enough for now and its such a fun bike to ride. Not new to thumpers -- my other toy is a Grizzly 700 with power steering I know there is a ton to be learned from you gals who have been riding all your lives. Unfortunately I didn't get into the power sports scene until I was an adult and buying my own toys. As a kid my parents said no to anything with a gas engine. So now I'm 31, tooting around on my little 150 and I love it. Sadly I'm the only girl I know who rides anything much less a dirt bike! I've got new handlebars and grips on order as we speak but with many more mods to come. Any gals riding a 150f and can suggest the most essential mods for it? Or heck, anyone in general can tell me the most essential mods for any dirt bike right out of the gate!

Very useful bike. It's non-intimidating for beginners and a more-seasoned rider can ride the piss out of one of these for hours of fun!

MAXIMUM FUN ON A MIDSIZED BIKE. The CRF150F takes easy operation to the max: Its electric starter takes the kick out of getting underway, but not out of the ride. Its smooth four-stroke engine delivers the power you depend on, while the serious Pro-Link® rear suspension turns whoop-de-don’ts into whoop-de-dos. Add the CRF150F’s new styling, smooth-shifting five-speed transmission, legendary low maintenance and a full measure of Honda reliability, and you’re ready to take your off-road riding to the max.
The CRF150F from Honda. You’ll have no trouble starting it—or taking care of it. SMALL ENGINE, BIG POWER. The 149cc four-stroke is small enough for beginning riders, yet packs enough punch to keep experienced adults entertained all day long. NO KICKSTARTING NECESSARY. With the CRF150F’s electric starting, you get ease-of-use, reliability and fun with the push of a button. Kick that idea around. 2015 GRAPHICS.
