Get off to the right start, and you have a huge advantage. It’s true in racing, where the holeshot counts for everything, and it’s true in life, where the lessons your kids learn early turn them into the adults they’ll become. That’s why parents work so hard to give their kids every advantage they can. And if you’re talking about teaching your youngster to focus, set goals, and win on the track, they need a machine that works just as hard at it as you do. And when it comes to motocross, that bike is Honda’s CRF150R. The CRF150R is designed to put your Red Rider up front and into the winners circle. It’s not an off-road bike with a low seat height; it’s a serious competition machine tailor-made for young racers. Designed around a single-cylinder Honda Unicam engine, it offers all the performance your riders need to win. Put them on the wrong bike, and they’ll get frustrated. Let them taste the champagne (or maybe the sparkling apple juice), and they’ll learn to apply themselves on the track and later in life. Sounds like a no brainer to us. Plus, since the right-sized bike is critical, to fit a wider variety of riders, we also make the CRF150R available in a second version: the CRF150R Expert, featuring bigger wheels, a higher seat and longer swingarm. -

What parent doesn’t want the best for his or her kids? You try to give them every advantage you can—a safe place to live, a good education. You try to be a good role model. You teach them that if they’re going to try, they should try their hardest. And nothing delivers that lesson like competition. Honda’s CRF150R is designed to give your young Red Rider the biggest advantage ever on the motocross track. It’s not just an off-road bike with a low seat height; it’s a serious competition machine tailor-maid for young racers. Designed around a single-cylinder Honda Unicam engine, it offers all the performance your riders need to keep them at the front of the pack and get them on top of the podium. For 2018 we’ve updated the CRF150R’s look with new graphics right in line with our open-class CRF450R’s. Plus, since the right-sized bike is critical, to fit a wider variety of riders, we also make the CRF150R available in a second version: the CRF150R Expert, featuring bigger wheels, a higher seat and longer swingarm. Premium Suspension. Showa® front and rear gives you unrivaled suspension action, especially over smaller, faster bumps that unsettle a bike’s chassis. Honda Performance. I do not race motocross but I like going fast so I got this bike. The bike, despite being meant for a track performs very well on dirt and sand. The bike has plenty of power for me (5’2 110lbs) and I still scare myself from time to time. Despite many online reviews of this bike being difficult to start I can start it in 1-2 kicks in 30 degree weather. The bike is extremely light and I am able to pick it up and pivot it with ease despite not being very strong. The bike does not take much oil and therefore oil changes are inexpensive. In very cold weather or when the bike is just beginning to warm up the bike has a strong bogging problem that can be lessened by a jetting kit. I have yet to have any overheating issues with the bike and the engine stays fairly cold. The flywheel on this bike is very light and is prone to stalling while riding slowly and I would recommend an auto clutch or flywheel weight if trail riding. I love this bike and I will not need an upgrade for a while. -
