    eBay Graphics

Hey everyone, Wondering if someone could tell me what the Graphics off eBay are like from China & Hong Kong? I have got graphics off eBay before for 3 of my past bikes all costing around $120-$150 AU each. I see for my current bike (kx450f) there are several cheaper ones from Hong Kong that are half that price. One monster one in particular being only $70 AU which covers all plastics. Has anyone bought them before? If so can you tell me how the quality was, and the alignment? Photos would be helpful as I assume they would look a little more dull? Thanks
  3. Looking at restyling my 125 with that nifty plastic kit from ufo. Its all cool and dandy but does anyone know where good graphics are to throw on that kit? Or can you order 250f graphics from the never yz's and use those? Questions questions questions

    450X Graphic Kits

Hey everyone, I'm trying to find a company that makes graphic kits for a 2007 CRF 450X. I have found a couple but they either don't ship to Canada or only have red. I just put all black plastic on and would like something simple that would go with it. Thanks,

    Dirt bike graphics

I'm wondering whether certain graphics fit only on the different types of plastics made by different manufacturers (UFO, Polisport etc..) ? Are all plastics the same shape? I have OEM plastics on my cr125 and want to put some graphics on it.

    Husqvarna TXC 450 (2010)

Actually a 2009 model. Not a bad machine. Bad bits; radiators are easy to damage, even with 'gaurds'. Suspension is pretty average, stock. Suspension linkage needs greasing more than average due to a bad seal design. A bit heavy, and not real nimble. Good bits; Tons of power, easy to work on. E-start (plus kick) I don't mean to make it sound bad, it's a pretty decent bike, a few small mods and some different tires (pirelli's instead of michelin) and it's starting to work well now. I'm happy with it. With gold valves fitted front and rear, cutting the bars down a bit and setting the front springs a couple of grooves softer, it's turning much better now and doesn't feel quite so big and clumsy. Just need to sort the rider out now

Rejet it with JD Jetting, remove AIS, cut the gray wire, take out the snorkel, add some protection and you got an awesome bike! Love her!

    Honda CRF250R (2007)

Overall great bike, wish it had a little more snap in the bottom end but other than that lots of power.
  11. I've been thinking about putting new graphics on my Yamaha WR250F, and DeCal MX has a pretty cool custom graphics maker. As the title suggests, I'm looking for opinions on the designs I've made up, since I just can't seem to pick between them! Also, if you want, you can design a set for me here (woo! you can design graphics for some random guy you'll never meet! ) If you do, the plastics are stock on the bike, so straying too far from them might look weird! I'll post pics after I get them on, though it could be a while. Designs:

  15. I recently got and started using Forma Adventure boots, and I like them very, very much but for one thing. The boots are are pretty burly and have a kind of big toebox, and thick lug soles. Due to this I have had to move my shifter up 1 spline, but that position adjustment is a little too high. (have to lift my foot to make shifts rather than just pivot off my footpeg, and really bad if I am gonna just take a quick ride in my sneakers!) The difference between a 1 spline adjustment on the shift lever is apx. 26 mm -or- pretty much an inch. Anyone think of a solution that would be sort of in between? Like how can I make an adjustment to the lever of about 15 mm? And yes, I have thought of bending the stock lever, but it is actually pretty tough. Is there a "custom" or adjustable shift lever for the DRZ400?

    Honda CR500R (1993)

My friend from Finland actually found this in local Craigslist! So, as an investment, I went right after it before the hillclimbers got to it. It’s an awesome bike in great shape, relatively low hours and mostly original. I installed a new seat cover and tires then picked up a janky pair of shrouds to save the originals. It has been bored however, but man, this thing is an animal....even my buddy says it runs way better than his CR500 he’s owned since new. Honestly, I don’t want to sell it now!

Im also kinda liking (don't hate me) The pink version! There i said it!Does anybody have a picture of either on actual riders bikes, They sure look pretty on n-styles website and google etc, but what they look like on factory bikes and your average joe's are slightly different!Cheers!

    Installing Graphics

I'm sure there are a million ways to install graphics, but this is what has worked for me. Tools/Supplies Needed - Windex or other alcohol based window cleaner (Windex is the best) - Simple Green or other light degreaser - A few clean shop towels - A plastic card, such as a credit card - Hair Dryer (don't tell your wife) Prepping the Plastic The key here is clean, clean clean. If the plastic is new or close to new, spray on a little degreaser and wipe it dry with a towel. If the plastic has deeper scratches with embedded dirt, clean with degreaser and a soft bristle brush. Installing the graphics Some install graphics on the bike, some off. I think it's a matter of personal preference. However, it also depends upon what kind of graphics you're installing. For example, if you're installing a tank/shroud & seat cover kit, where the graphics from the tank/shrouds continue on into the seat, everything needs to line up properly to look good and installing on the bike makes this much, much easier. For these kits, install the seat cover first, then orient the graphics to line up with it. Don't worry, they only line up perfectly in the pictures on the manufacturer's web site. Pick the panel you'd like to start with an give it a light to moderate coating of Windex. Fairly quickly, peel the entire backing off the graphic and gently place it about where it should stay. At this point, do NOT press down hard. Many graphics use pressure sensitive adhesive and the goal here is to use the Windex to allow you to slide the graphic on the plastic, making fine adjustments until everything is exactly where it should be. Since the Windex will evaporate slowly, you have some time to make these adjustments, but of course, not all day. Once the graphic is where you want it, apply some downward pressure to set it place and begin the process of carefully removing the unevaporated Windex from underneath the graphic. This is done by wrapping the plastic credit card with a cotton towel and using it like a squeegee. Remember, Windex evaporates, so you don't need to get it completely dry. Once there seems to be very little Windex left underneath the graphic, plug in your hair dryer and speed up the evaporation process, being careful to not get the graphic too hot, as the vinyl can melt. Usually just a minute of two per panel is enough. Lastly, using a clean, dry towel over your hand, carefully apply downward pressure over the entire graphic, making sure it's firmly in contact with the panel. Be very careful to not push the graphic, screwing up your alignment. Let the bike sit for 24 hours and you're ready to ride. If you find any bubbles in the graphics, welcome to the club. As far as I'm concerned, only the factory can get graphics on as perfect as they do. However, small air bubbles can be popped with a needle and improved visually. Lastly, graphics on plastic fuel tanks, even though they are perforated will eventually bubble and there is really nothing you can do about it. Remember, it's a dirt bike not a show car and nothing in life is perfect. Now go make that bike purdy!
