It has a very neutral chassis, turns very well but doesn't give much up in stability. The power is very linear and easy to use. If you wan't a hard-hitting 2 stroke, this isn't your bike. Even with the aggressive map switch and the powervalve adjuster turned in, it much more mellow than my Yz. Although the power may not be exciting, it's perfect for gnarly technical terrain. Stock forks were harsh on square-edge obstacles. The Pressure springs(small spring in the top of the fork) are known to be to stiff for most offroad riding. I had them changed out when the forks were revalved. E-start works flawlessly and starts the bike within a couple seconds when cold. Ergo's feel good to me...at 6'1", I was worried that it would feel to small to me, but that's not the case. The rear brake lever is a little low for most people, but I actually prefer it that way and it's adjustable anyway. Brakes themselves feel good, the front in particular is very strong. I don't feel they give up much to the Brembo's on the Ktm's. 40 hour update: replaced the stock rear tire within 20 hours and did the front at about the 35 hour point. I now have a tubliss front and rear, with a new rim in the front because of bad crash I had. In that crash, I also smashed the pipe, split a radiator hose, twisted both radiators, and popped the preload adjusters out of both forks. Beta fixed the forks free of charge, so no complaints there. Separate from that crash, the stock map switch is busted and I blew the fuse for the e-starter, although it blew in extremely wet conditions. The most likely culprit is the horn, it's a pretty common issue that's easy to fix. Also, the stock plastic is extremely brittle and easy to crack.- 2 comments

If you ride a dirt bike then you know what it is like to have a grip that slips. Despite all your best efforts to properly glue and safety wire the grip securely in place, it inevitably slips creating an annoyance and a safety hazard. The act of gluing and wiring grips with specialty tools can be a hassle as well. The wire often breaks leaving a sharp point and wreaks havoc on both your hands and the grip. The gluing process is a mess and difficult to get consistent coverage between your grip and the bar due to the fact that the grip just pushes all the glue to one end or the other. Risk Racing has a simple and effective solution. We are introducing the patent pending Fusion Grip Tech Bonding Strips and Fusion Spray Catalyst. Simply peel and stick the bonding strips to your bars. Then spray the bonding strips with the supplied Fusion Catalyst and easily slip your grip into place. At first the catalyst acts as a lubricant for easy grip installation, but after it dries it creates a lasting bond. The entire process is clean and simple. Additionally, Fusion Grip Tech comes packaged with the new Risk Racing Ergo Wave Grips. The Wave Grips are a high quality, dual compound soft grip with a reinforced grip end and an ergonomically designed grip flange. This ergonomic “wave” on the flange of the grip reduces pressure points between the riders thumb and the grip flange. Although this patent pending design feature is subtle, it greatly reduces heat and pressure, which reduces blistering and increases rider comfort. Thanks to the Risk Racing Ergo Wave grips you can say goodbye to “Yama-thumb”!- 1 review

DETAILS Renthal half-waffle dual-compound Kevlar grips are among the best MX grips on the market. Renthal has developed a special compound for its grips using Kevlar. As a result, the grips are extra-strong, able to withstand significantly more wear than Renthal's other grips without sacrificing comfort or control. Another great feature of these Renthal Kevlar grips is the half-waffle design. The half-waffle construction is prevalent among MX grips because it caters to both comfort (smooth on the palms) and control (waffle on the fingers). Renthal has developed a special Kevlar reinforced grip, with all the properties you would expect from a Renthal grip along with the added life-extending properties of Kevlar. The grip's base material is reinforced with millions of randomly aligned Kevlar fibers. As the grip is used, more Kevlar fibers are exposed, so the percentage of Kevlar at the grip surface increases. The grip's Kevlar layer offers three times the life of the regular compound, which allows Renthal to use a very supple matrix material. This revolutionary material lasts three times as long as Renthal's regular soft material. These Renthal grips are for use with twist throttles. If you use glue on the installation of Renthal grips, due to the specific compound, only Renthal grip glue will work.- 3 reviews

Bought this puppy back in late 2020 from the original owner, god knows how much he rode it because this thing was clapped. Broken power valve assembly, cracks being held together by JB weld down the engine cases, tore up warn out seat cover and plastics, you name it. But hey! at least he gave me new grips with it haha. There are some design flaws with it that dont make it a perfect bike, such as the entire power valve design is a bit bu1t as$ backwards. I raced it for awhile and for a bit she was actually my main bike, that stopped when I got a 2003 YZ125 that later was nothing but problems so I parted that out. I've had somebody do top and bottom end, I polished everything super nice and shiny, repainted the frame, painted the wheels black, every bearing was done, new really sweet suspension set for SX, and decided to make it look like a 1997 RC replica! I've probably put around 4-5K into her but she's a fine peace of history and is now sitting on the stand in my room watching me write this haha!-

Full stock and super low hours when I bought it in mid 2022, my guess would be around 15 hours on whole bike, rode the puppy hard as hell and just did complete engine rebuild. Learned a lot on it, never gave me huge issues. Boyesen reeds, Lectron carb, complete Wiseco engine, full pc exhaust system (pics dont show), FX stiff seat and seat cover, done up suspension, and much more. -
