  2. G'day everyone, Offroad motorcycle racing legend, and renowned skills instructor, Shane Watts has announced the confirmation of one of his wildly popular two day “DirtWise with Shane Watts” Academy of Offroad Riding Schools to be conducted at the LACC "Jim Bowie" race venue, near Sicily Island, LA on Feb 4/5 (Sat/Sun). Watts will continue to travel all over the US during 2012 conducting these very informative two day, World Championship winning Instructional classes that continue to receive rave reviews from attending students, reinforcing the fact that the DirtWise Offroad schools and Instructional DVDs are the premier learning programs available. More than 2,500 students have graduated from the Academy since it officially began in July 2007. Watts stated, “The DirtWise with Shane Watts Academy of Offroad Riding is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and improve your skill level with offroad riding situations, whilst in a controlled environment and under expert guidance. The DirtWise Academy of Offroad Riding school is an exceptional learning institution that focuses on offroad specific riding situations and instruction, however the skills we teach apply to both offroad and motocross riding/racing.” “The majority of our students are of the novice and intermediate skill level, however what we teach applies to all skill levels right from the beginner all the way through to the Pro level. We just set up the skills exercises with varying degrees of difficulty according to the skill levels present at each individual school.” “Our school focuses on increasing bike control which results in a safer, more confident and skilled rider. Ultimately this allows each student, if they desire, to easily ride faster without greatly overstepping their skill limits. Having greater bike control and confidence are key ingredients to achieve this!” Cost for the two day school will be $360, with discounts available for previous students and extra family members. Each student and DirtWise DVD customer will gain access to some great discounted prices from the companies associated with DirtWise. For those interested in attending this upcoming school please email dirtwise@shanewatts.com for more info and to receive the Event flyer. Be sure to pass this information on to any of your mates, fellow club members, and riding buddies who might be interested in a valued weekend of riding, instruction, and heaps of fun! A portion of each student’s tuition fee is donated to the Blue Ribbon Coalition and the RiderDown Foundation. Visit www.shanewatts.com for more info on how to register for this school and to sign up for the periodical “Watts Happening” Newsletter, or to purchase the recently released Volume #2 (How to Master Corners, Braking, and Roosting through tight trees) in the DirtWise Advanced Instructional DVD series. Along with our other DVD titles there is also additional merchandise available to purchase at www.shanewatts.com such as DirtBaby “track ready” infant and toddler apparel, bargain pricing on Flexx handlebars, plus more! Shane Watts and the DirtWise Academy of Offroad Riding schools and Instructional DVDs are supported by www.ktmhutt.com, DirtBaby, Dirt Tricks Sprockets and brake rotors, Fun Mart Cycles, IMS fuel tanks and footpegs, Fasst Co. Flexx Handlebars, Domino Grips from Offroadchampions.com, DeCal Works, Alpinestars, and Synergy Fork Seals. 9. new here, didn’t see a new member intro section so figured I’d come here to see who here is from/in Thailand. i’m here a little less than 4-5 months a year, depending on work schedule in the states. Lived in Bangkok & Chonburi but now in Ubon putting down roots & starting to get bored. Looking to get into some “thumpering”both in Thailand (& in the states - MS/LA) to build a skill set for a new enduro/trailriding hobby & to aid in future adventure touring.
  10. Guys, Anyone know if this place is still open? From what I can gather on the net it's a free ride area with an MX track and some trails open everyday. I'm a reservist that drills at JRB, considering taking my bike with me to ride after work since it's so close. Thanks!
  11. Muddy Bottom in Springhill, LA with 5,000 acres of trails has its Grand Opening May 22-26 Memorial day weekend.
  12. Just spent 5 days there with some friends. The camp sites were really awesome and the fact that there was an RV dump site was really great. We got there Tues eve, and had the entire place to ourselves until Fri eve, that was nice. The North and Woodworth trails were nice flowing and fast...few whoops and not too many roots (compared to the Sam Houston NF), The Boyscout loop was some nice single track, a little rough and definitely the most challenging trail out there. I had a great time and look forward to going back.

All the other people I know just do mud holes now. I friggen hate mud Its nasty, it gets in everything, it breaks stuff, and then its a pain to work on because everything is crusted over. Anyone else wanna go play on some trails?

  18. Hey guys, I grew up in Ville Platte, LA, and I got in to dirt bikes since I've been living up here in Denver. I'm coming home for a week in the end of May, and I'm bringing my bike with me. What, in your opinion, are the best places to ride in the Lafayette area? I plan on hitting up Gravity Alley in Breaux Bridge, and Frog Capital Speedway in Rayne. Any other suggestions? Trails or mx, it doesn't matter. Thanks

  22. Hello all, been reading about stalling issues but yesterday my 2013CRF250L locked up the rear wheel at a steady 45MPH on the way home. I never had any stalls until I did a couple of Mods: Yoshimura full exhaust Unifilter foam 2 stage air filter 6 one inch holes in the air box cover with unifilter foam vent inserts trimmed the snorkel to about 1 inch deep in the box. It stalled 3 or 4 times when coming to a stop and downshifting, so I adjusted that screw/allen throttle air thing about a quarter turn in. It stopped stalling at slow speeds, but yesterday killed and locked up on the highway. Any advice on what to check or how to fix would be much appreciated! Thanks, Dave
  23. My son and I are going up to Camp Claiborne Saturday 2/5/11. Is anyone else from TT going to be there. We'll be in my Suburban with a utility trailer. Look us up and let's get together for a ride...👍 Perc
